For future playthroughs, for the game corner and silph co fights Giovanni has absolutely no idea what to do about Jellicent. He tries to send in kangaskahn which has scrappy, but he mega evolves, taking scrappy away so now he can't hit you. By the time he damages Jellicent, you've burned it with scald.
