1. Toxic is not used in Gen I because it change into normal poison after switch 2. Reflect does not work like that in Gen I. It ends when your pokemon leave the battlefield (switch or faint), and crits ignore it.

In Nintendo Cup 97 Toxic and poison types are a lot more common and viable because Double team was allowed, nearly everything wanted to use double team and Toxic was one of the few methods of dealing with it, thus poison types having an immunity to it made their double team scarier.

concerning your question on crits ratio in gen one it goes something like that base speed times one hundred divided by 512. In alakazam's case its 120x100/512 which is 24% roughly. Best crit chance in the game is jolteon i think with 130 speed his chance was 25%

Electrode was slightly better at 27% IIRC, worse than jolteon in every other way though. Jolteon, aerodactyl and mewtwo were 2nd tier speed with electrode 1st.

Yep, Pokemon with higher speed can have critical hit rates upwards of 20%! And on a move like Slash, that crit rate approaches 100%.

I believe in first gen that Reflect wears off when you switch out the Pokemon. I'm not really sure if that's true but I heard in gen two, it then lasted five turns each.

Toxic is broken in the 1st 3 generations, unfortunately. If the recipient of toxic switches out, then switches back in; instead of toxic poison damage, it will revert to normal poison damage. And that is too bad because it would work wonders on stuff like chansey and lapras, toxic is by far the best poison type move in Gen 1.

Considering electrode is the fastest 1st gen Pokemon, it has the highest crit chance out of all of them, that being 27.5% I believe. So yea crits were kinda hax but definitely wayyyy less than 2nd gen onwards.

Toxic reverts to normal poison if the opponent switches out, this is bad since it stops the opponent from getting paralyzed and slept which are much more useful. Same with burn, although that can ruin physical attackers so it has some use. The slowbro is best taken care of by fast electric attackers, one thunderbolt crit and it's in big trouble as crits ignore the boost. Tough challenge though. Also reflect doesn't carry over when you switch out, so the persian was doomed after one hit anyway, might as well use HB.

Well technically there are EVs, but not as we know them to be in gen 3 onwards, instead we have Stat XP which caps at 65535 on a particular stat point, and each stat can have the maximum. Also, just because I know you like toxic, in the first gen, toxic, oddly, increases leech seed's damage, and leech seed in turn increases toxic's damage, if an opponent lets you set them both up, they will die fast if they don't switch.

Btw no one uses toxic because toxic does normal poison dmg and not the stacking dmg it does in later generations after a single switch out. Many quick pokemon would kill to be poisoned and not thunderwaved thats why toxic is close to useless and the premier move used was thunderwave, plus it wastes moveslots that could be used for better things. Toxic is taking your rhydons body slam place which has the chance to paralyze therefore its like 80% better to say in the least. That is all peace dude keep up the videos i am loving them :P .
