I love how Director Clavell has to jump in to stop Nemona from throwing a level 99 Dragonite or something at you during the first battle lol. The fact that she's very obviously sandbagging and slowly ramping things up as we get more experienced makes her battles feel a lot more satisfying compared to some of the previous rivals like Hop. With him, I was always like "Dude, why are you acting so confident after I just one shot your whole team?", but with Nemona her excitement actually makes sense cause the stronger you get the less she has to hold back during your next fight.

Nemona is definitely one of my favourite rivals. She doesn't come off as annoying and arrogant and it's genuinely really fun to battle her wheras previous rivals sorta just felt like a chore

It's typacal to chose the best starter for the first gym. That would not aply here with the open world. I just choose my favorite and train it as nessisary. Sprigatito has an intefesting evolution line I like so I feal I'll be choosing it as my starter.
