I love megaggron. One of my faveorite pokemon. Regular Aggron is more aesthetically appealing to me, but the sheer powerhouse it becomes when it evolces is amazing. Also Dusclops is a beast. I'll definitely try the team out

Only critique might be to switch out a pokemon for a scarf lati with healing wish. Since trick room mons are naturally bulky and slow, having a fast mon to deal some damage and heal a key mon back up to full is pretty nice.

I remember I actually did something like the "solo serperior ladder", but for Monotype. I used the 1v1 ladder for it, and was toying around using Bouffalant (it didn't work, as expected), but I was very surprised to see him tank some Giga Impacts and Hyper Beams from various mons (I think the only mon that managed to OHKO bouffalant was Giga Impact Megamence), and OHKO-ing back with Head Charge. I think it was Life Orb Bouffalant or Lefties (because I'm pretty sure choice band/specs is banned, but for monotype it was CB), max atk, and it actually picked some juice :D

Tho, Occa Berry or Watmel Berry are better. Watmel Berry's is 100 BP, stronger. Occa Berry's is weaker (80 BP), but the berry is actually useful for something else other than Natural Gift.

hey joey, i've been a pretty long time follower and you've gotten me really into the meta game.... but i'm very inexperienced due to life not allowing me to play into it a bunch. a good friend of mine has recently gotten back into pokemon, bred himself a team... and come to me after building a team, saying he does not like mega salamence and finds it underwhelming (while not yet playing in a tiered situation-he doesn't do showdown so he lacks exp too). how can i show him that mega salamence is absolute OP (vs suggesting alternative items) and eventually justify getting him to only use it in certain situations where another equally broken mon is present in friendlies?

Give him a few sets and show him matchups and strategies to beat other threatening mons he'll run into since he's doing wifi instead of show down. A mon may have good stats, but that doesn't always mean it'll always be the best mon for any given situation. Come up with ideas together to put the given mon into the "perfect" situation so it can do work. Making strategies rather than just builds is a great way to make any pokemon shine.

he plays on battle spot? he can probably change up his set, what is he running? mence has the ability to break through so many mons as long as they dont have ice type atks or strong dragon moves. i agree with king but i also think he should try different sets. dd double edge roost facade is amazing for breaking and doesnt care about status but then mence can also be a support option too. if he actually just wants mence to win he can also just use aurora veil + that dd mence up there and watch it win haha

thanks a lot guys. i'll pass a couple sets to him. he mainly wants to play against people in our direct vicinity since we're in a big area, but to see a man give up on mega-mence is frustrating when he's allowed to use it in such a carefree setting. i was trying to explain what it can do in the end game with proper chip... and he was trying to not drop it after i was explain the sweep potential.. i think aurora veil is probs the best way to show him the power though, then i can show him situational stuff on showdown. thanks again.
