Well most n64 games (I'm guessing stadium 2 is no exception) run at 20 frames per second. This means that every frame is a 0.05 second interval, meaning that a measurement of anything less than this is essentially just an arbitrary value. The game does have a way to 'determine' this, but without understanding how or why, the best thing a TASer can do is be frame perfect.

A computer calculated it for them. It knew exactly how many were SUPPOSED to show up, so it counted those immediately.

@@prismacan7752 I don't think so. The player probably just counted them beforehand and then loaded a savestate to skip back to beginning to enter the number. Setting up a bot to analyze the game's code is too much of a task for just a minigame, in my opinion.
