Pokemon Stadium 🎮 Poke Cup: Master Ball [R-2] - 15/20🔥

Welcome to my walkthrough series of Pokemon Stadium! In this playthrough, I will cover the gameplay of all the Pokemon Stadium Cups (including Pokemon Stadium R2): Gym Leader Castle, Poke Cup, Prime Cup, Pika Cup, Petit Cup, and the final showdown against Mewtwo: the final boss of this game! Poké Cup (Japanese: ニンテンドウカップ Nintendo Cup) is one of the four Stadium Cups, appearing in both Pokémon Stadium and Pokémon Stadium 2.
It is presented as being the officially-sponsored Pokémon League tournament, though unlike what would be thought, not all Pokémon are allowed for use. More specifically: Mewtwo and Mew are all disallowed.
The Cup has a level restriction on it as well, only allowing Pokémon between the levels of 50 and 55 to compete. In addition, the three-Pokémon team chosen by the player at the beginning of a battle may not have a total level sum above 155. This means as well that the six-Pokémon team chosen to compete can't have more than four Pokémon of level 55.
There are four levels that may be challenged; each level up must be unlocked by defeating the eight Trainers on the previous level.
The rules of Poke Cup established that the total level of the 3 chosen pokemons must not exceed 155. Since all my personal pkmns are above lvl 50, i was forced to use rentals because they are exactly lvl 50 and i was too lazy to raise a whole new team until they reached level 50. Rentals sucks, but luckily everything was ok in master cup, nonetheless.
So, in a nutshell.... The 3 pkmns i chose to all battles: My Alakazam lvl 55 + any rental lvl 50 + any rental lvl 50 = 155 total lvl.

@@Extra_Dragons211 but there was only VERY weak attacks, in those times the only bug type attacks that existed were Pin Missile ( exclusive of Jolteon) and Twineedle ( exclusive of Beedrill,pokemon that is already weak of psychic attacks)

I wish the elemental punches were obtainable in gen 1 seeing how many psychic types benefit from them and get more coverage like alakazam who is the best candidate to learn them! Of course you can get them by trading to g/s/c then trade back

Yeah you can get them via tradeback from GSC but it might be a good thing because psychics types were already OP in gen 1

How Is your alakazam so strong? At 55 the highest my alakazam is hp is 148 lol, and that’s with hp up along with protein iron etc

148 at level 55 is average more or less, i gave my 10 hp+ when it was a kadabra just before evolving it,as well as using 10 vitamins each in its defense,calcium,and speed. I didnt bother with the attack stat since it doesnt use any physical attacks anyway. At level 55 my Alakazam had 169hp

That's incorrect. It means that the Pokémon has moves that it wouldn't normally learn in Gen 1. This doesn't imply that the Pokémon is hacked. For example, Alakazam learns the elemental punches in Gen 2 but not in Gen 1. If you transfer an Alakazam from Gen 2 that knows at least one of the elemental punches to Gen 1, it will make the player name appear in purple color. Does this means that the Alakazam in this example was hacked? *NO* .

I notice for almost every cup he use alakazam with the elemental punches and psychic, the rental are only their to fill the spots basically and barely/never used in battle lol. P.s i use mewtwo with amnesia, psychic, substetite and recover for open cup and gym leaders and the elite four round 2, so i am the same in using the easy method to win lol.

Hola me gusta tu forma de Juego la verdad y tu Alakazam lo ame, como le haces para que tenga esos stats cuanto tiene de Special yo tengo una a nivel 55 que tiene 203 a lo mejor ahi se dan un entre pero en lo demas el tuyo esta mucho mas alto por lo que veo en la rsistencia y HP el mio tiene 153 vs el tuyo 175 tus videos muy buenos yo la verdad no se jugar tan bien eres mi ejemplo a seguir saludos

Lo que pasa esque puedes capturar el mismo pokemon en este caso Alakazam pero las estadisticas varian me explico el HP,especial,velocidad, ataque y defensa no siempre seran igual..

Pues en la primera generacion es posible maximizar todos los stats de un pokemon pero deben tener IV perfectos, cosa que es duro de obtener

@@ChrisPTY507 Si de acuerdo totalmente despues de atrapar como 500 Abras pude porfin conseguir uno asi y lo mismo con un gastly es durísimo diría yo pero vale la pena con estos dos tios me llevo la copa mas un Snorlax que solo le falta tener lo máximo de Speed(que un Snorlax es casi irrelevante) y special tiene también casi todo Saludos

Hi Chris, would you explain me what are the advantages of using ice-punch/thunderpunch instead of, for example, ice beam/ray?? I guess that if you spent time transfering to crystal then back is for some reason. Well played by the way!

Hello, NFL. Of course! There is pretty much no advantage of using the elemental punches if we are to compare them with ice beam, thunderbolt, flamethrower, etc. The punches are weak, they are ideal for pokemons such as alakazam, who doesnt learn the "elemental rays, only the punches. and...yeah! he was transferred from my pkmn crystal game. im glad you enjoyed the video. i am recording another playthrough on the pokemon stadium games. this time, using only rentals!!!

@@NLGplays Oh nooo!! hold on. the split of physical and special moves was not a thing until generation 4. so the elemental punches on Alakazam in this game (Gen 1) is perfectly fine to use.

Yeah but we have to consider the fact that this game was meant to be “balanced” (even though the AI haxes so much to the point that this balance stuff is questionable). Still, I get te idea of giving pokemons a more healthy move set while deliberately draining crappy rental pokemons to force players to bring their own pokemons. Sneaky tactic
