YEAAAHHHHH POKEMON PIT!! I was actually in Archie's hacking server when this first dropped, and it got so popular and out of control that it ended up getting its own Discord, haha. One of the coolest things is how he has different builds available for different generations - most of my personal playtime has been in doubles mode with the Generation 3 build!

Since you're a fan of paper mario TTYD, I'm going to highly recommend the game 'Bug Fables'. An indie inspired classic paper mario game. Paper Mario on the 64 was my favorite childhood game and Bug Fables felt like the ideal paper mario experience to me. Can't recommend it enough to other paper mario fans.

Hell yeah, I'm glad you loved the TTYD remaster. I played the original on release when I was like 11 and I was so engrossed in it I stayed up till 5am for the first time in my life haha

Pretty sure the Pokemon 'nicknames' are just the category the species belong to. This hack looks dope. I like the influx of rogue-likes (rogue-lites?) in Pokemon romhacks, and this one looks really well done and polished.

I had the same issue with trying to figure out how to return to and finish an old romhack series. I ended up finishing it in a stream, and packing the vod with the regular videos in the playlist, so the full game is complete on my channel for those that wanted it. It was the best-of-both-worlds fix.

Hey man, I know this is a commonly said thing on KZbin but play what you want to play! People will watch more or less no matter what, at a certain point it only matters that you are happy with the content you create. Obviously it’s also your full time job, but I truthfully believe a lot of your viewers watch you for you

Pokerogue has definitely raised the bar in terms of QOL. Whether it's watching this or me playing other pokefangames, i always feel like something is missing, like the possibility of checking which pokemon learn a move before taking it

i think a cool option that could be in a future update is to make the “pit” look like different areas just simple stuff like a grassland, snowy field, forest. its always nice to have options

like i know it’s called the pit and in ttyd it’s also just the same for all the floors but at least that game has a bunch of other aesthetics (granted ttyd is a $60 game and this is free) i think it’d be nice

You might be opposed to it but you could finished those games like grueling gold on your own and post them as long form content, it seems to work better for some people and you could work at it piece by piece until you feel it’s good enough to post

Agree. Cal is a PokeTuber but it doesnt mean other games of interest can't be uploaded. On the other hand: There's playing the game for fun at his own pace and playing it for an audience, which would be very different for him, too.

I tried getting the game, instead all my stuff were gen 3 dialogue boxes and anything after the pit completely glitched out. Is it because I got the all gens version?

Did you download it from the actual release or one of those sketchy sites that steals hacks and reuploads them? Because the current version on the official release does not have Gen 3 text boxes

You want to look up the trashman ROM and then you can use an online patcher to patch it onto the trashman ROM

Downloading or providing pre patched versions of romhacks is both illegal, and a dumb idea. The only sites that host them are sketchy foreign sites with a million ads and fake download buttons, that steal romhacks from creators and rehost them for ad revenue. We do not make our hacks to make money off them, supporting people who are trying to make money off of other people illegally and putting romhackers at risk of being DMCAd for their hacks being available prepatched is not okay. Even if you ignore all that, those sites almost never have the most recent versions of hacks so you're likely going to end up with an outdated one you won't know got updated because you went to a shady site.
