Tbh I liked x and y because it was a breath of fresh air, 3D graphics, mega evolution, amazing locations. I even like ORAS, however at the release of sun and moon it seemed to have strayed so far from what Pokémon actually was. Having no gyms and the introduction of Z moves felt so cheesy. It is what it is though.

Actually Zubat is perfect for hm slave(flyer) in an early game because it's so easy to find in cave

Well, you require Strenght, Surf and Ideally fly in this game. Psyduck can use both Strenght and Surf, Zubat and Pidove can use fly, Ducklett can use both fly and surf but is slower to get. Makes sense to use Zubat over Pidove, since is much more consistent to get, like catching one before trying to get a Drilbur.

Could you potentially use rare candys before Elesa? That way you wouldn’t need to hone claws for emOlga and maybe save some healing time? Or does the exp gain from being lower leveled make that less optimal?
