You asked are they classics? Imo yes i love it alot because of how cozy the game is if you dont care for diffuculty much these games are some of the best,gen 6s 2Dish graphics i also find endearing and this generation while introduced the lowest amount of new pokemon i absolutely think its the best alongside generation 4 design wise my favorite fossils,lots of creature base designs,sylveon,the legendaries,starter,the marine life and honestly mythicals are underrated i love that all three of them are creature designs djinn,komainu,carbuncle I agree with characters being flat but i honestly love some of the gym leader designs also you didnt give wulfric that much of a credit for being at the pokemon valley the music is also really good both battle and atmospheric music Its not my favorite generation thats gen 7 then followed by 5 but i did grow up with this generation along with gen 5

I think this game suffered in terms of potential and overall lack of fleshing out the story among a 3rd game to actually fill in the gaps left in X&Y. Some may say that the jump to 3D hurted the game's potential, for me is the fact the game outside of Mega Evolution and 3D it felt very bland in both terms of story and eviroment that could've been expended upon. Not to mention that there's little to nothing else interesting to do after you finish the main story with the "post game" as i stated before, X&Y suffered from wasted potential on so many areas and a rather forgettable story with what i consider to have the weakest Gym Leaders,E4 and Champion to date, at least in my opinion.
