A Pokemon Y Hardcore Nuzlocke Monotype Challenge with ONLY DARK TYPE POKEMON - Can it be done? (No items, No overleveling)
Make sure to let me know what hardcore nuzlocke challenge you want to see in the comments!
RULES:
1) If a Pokemon faints, it's considered dead and can no longer be used.
2) Only the first encounter can be caught on each route.
3) Species Clause; I can reroll an encounter if the first encounter is something already caught.
4) No items in battle (held items are fine).
5) No overleveling the next gym leader's highest Pokemon (leveling up during the fight is allowed).
6) Battle style must always be on 'Set'.

X and Y are great games for mono type runs since they have the biggest regional dex of any games at a combined total of 457 (apart from Sword and Shield that is, they have 664)

When they strike a balance with their newer generations in upcoming years >>> I think having too much pokemon ends up hurting them but also making it so that you can *only* use pokemon that are apart of the new gen isn’t as fun as having extra variety. Though preferably more pokemon that generally aren’t found as often in other gens brought to the new games would be good too since the regular zubat cave encounter gets stale quick

I've always heard yveltal pronounced as E-vil-tall because dark=evil. Also the ultimate weapon firing on itself is because lysandre is mad you beat him and wants to kill you with it

For those who don't know, dark type was created in gen II because in red, blue, amd yellow, nothing was super effective against psychic, but bug, and ghost which I believe was bugged anyway. Thats why the gen II Eeveelutions are dark and psychic

Psychic had no weakness in gen 1. The only ghost types from gen 1 were also poison and would get shredded before they moved, and there was only 2 bug attacking moves with were abysmal even with the crap defense of most psychic types, not to mention half the bugs were poison, so they too got shredded

dark type has some of the coolest pokemon. except maybe the alolan meowth line or raticate. i dont like alolas dark type variants. but most dark types are really cool you should do steel type in hgss next

It's Ya val tal using a sort of batman voice. IT ONLY WORKS IF U USE THE BATMAN VOICE!!! Also why did u have flamethrower on a tyranitar? Literally any physical rock move that was at least 40 base power would have been better. If u need calcs, u get 2x from stab Not to mention that tyranitar's physical attack stat is almost twice the much as the special attack stat.

Not quite, Stab is a multiplier of 1.5x and the SpAtt stat of Tyranitar is roughly 75% of the Attack Stat, Taking into account Super Effective on Flamethrower with the stat difference that then means it reaches a Power of 135 on particularly Grass and Steel Types which usually resist Rock Type Moves where as Crunch with Stab has a Power of 120, Mixed Sets also allows you to take on Pokémon with say a naturarly high regular Defense Stat... The nature of Tyranitar in this run might also play a role in the decision
