But come on let’s be honest here, the setting of Verdansk was much more appealing to the wider community. Literally nobody wanted to go to a world war 2 setting and I think that’s a major turnoff for Caldera. Personally I think the map is very very ugly and would take an enhanced Verdansk over it any day, even if it did play worse than Caldera.

I think the main appeal of Verdansk was the modern setting. I actually really liked playing on Verdansk. Caldera just looks so garbage and I don’t like playing normal battle Royale anymore. I’d (even though Jev whinged about it the entire video) take Verdansk over Caldera even if it plays better now.

@@v9730 I mean Verdansk LOOKED incredibly realistic, especially as a Southern Middle Eastern country. Those places are usually the grounds of major battles in Modern War. The cold and dead vibe of Verdansk is what makes it feel so realistic. It’s a war-zone, it’s not going to be bright and bubbly. The original Verdansk gave the vibe of a dead and lifeless city which is now only the grounds of battle, especially with the bounty hunting, it really made it feel like you were operating in a war-zone and taking out HVTs, personally I love that aesthetic for modern war games. Caldera focuses on World War II operations, but like most of Vanguard fails to even remotely replicate any feeling of World War II. It’s not even that it’s not historically accurate, I couldn’t care less about historical accuracy, the issue is they tried to make World War II like 2022 warfare and that just feels so cheesy and cringe. Caldera is also a pacific island set in World War II, even if they slap a date on the opening cinematic, because the architecture, opening cinematic, weaponry and exfiltration animations all are supposed to be World War II esque. This is a major turnoff mainly due to the weird colouring and lighting of the map, especially the incredibly ugly rocky coastlines and the disgusting looking inner island mining fields filled with sand and rocks, this all really just makes it look either ugly or over saturated.

I redownloaded Warzone after they released Caldera, upon booting up the game I was pleasantly meet with a Ban Screen… lol I only played with friends occasionally on Verdansk, was complete dog shit at the game and was definitely not a PS4 hacker. All I ever did was land by the nearest helicopter and run into people… my highest kill game was 7 all with a helicopter lol. It was fun. Unfortunately when I tried to appeal my ban the Activision page was down. That was few months ago lol. I appealed by ban once again yesterday, got an email back this morning saying, “Yeah, nope. Go fuck yourself.” Well not actually but they didn’t unban me LOL ok dude shit game anyways
