If I were a TV producer, I'd create a Monkees-esque TV show starring Pokey Lafarge as the 1920s singer transplanted through time to the 21st century. It would revolve around the scrapes he gets into and would be interspersed with song-scenes featuring car chases, train journeys and traditional farce. It would be called The Pokey Lafarge Show. TV needs more of that kind of thing.

Speakeasies appeared on the scene until January 29th 1920. They disappeared (except in those states and localities that exercised their local option to ban the people from drinking) December 5th 1933.

I know you commented this 6 years ago, but I always wonder this. People sang so differently and distinctly back in like the 1930's, it's hard to recreate and you can usually tell pretty quick when somebody is trying to imitate it. But this guy does a great, authentic job at having an "old" sound to his voice.
