Transformers EarthSpark Season 1 Episode 8: Decoy REVIEW (SPOILERS!!)

Great review! Arcee's lesson for the kids was great (and not one usually seen in kids' shows I feel like), and also she indirectly ties in to the Optimus and Megatron argument. Earthspark Optimus' flaw seems to be that he's reluctant to go against GHOST because he fears he'll disrupt the fragile peace he's forged with humanity. He knows GHOST isn't 100% on the up-and-up, since he doesn't trust them with knowledge of the Terrans or that Bumblebee is alive . . . yet he also can't bring himself to agree with Megatron when Megs is like "Hey Optimus, don't these guys seem like bad news." It's a really interesting take on Optimus. Totally agree on the divorce arc between Megatron and Soundwave, it REALLY feels like that. This episode, episode 9, and episode 10 are my favorites. Not sure if I could pick a favorite between them. Also: they did a stellar job conveying Soundwave's emotions considering he doesn't have any movable components to his face and doesn't speak much. The furious little head-quiver when he said, "Traitor! Autobot scum!" was everythig.

Totally agree with your views on Optimus and Megatron! EarthSpark Optimus to me feels like the kid trying to keep his two constantly arguing parents (GHOST and Megatron in this instance) from fighting and potentially divorcing. I'm absolutely loving all of these new interpretations of legacy characters like Arcee and Soundwave too! Would love to hear what you thought of the finale too!

Something odd I noticed was that Arcee has a G.H.O.S.T symbol, but Wheeljack does not
