I thought it was interesting in the first series that Bruno falls head over heels for Pol, but it wasn't reciprocated. Then in the first season of the second series, Pol lusts after Rai, but gets almost the exact same treatment back.

Yes, in the long run. They finally come together sometime around Pol's graduation from university. The final episode of this series has a 7-year jump where the boys are together and on the cusp of getting married. Unfortunately, due to bone-headed decisions by the writer and the network, the second series was cancelled after the second season leaving the story half told. Thus, we never get to see that final chapter and their reconciliation.
