In fact Anastazja Kuś (born in 2007) and Natalia Kaczmarek (born in 1998) represent two different generations. Natalia is now in her prime, Anastazja is very fast for her age, but she is still a junior athlete. Time will tell if she becomes a top runner. Unfortunately the rest of girls of Kaczmarek's generation are much slower than her. That's the problem of the Polish team.

Anastazja was ready, but underperformed. It happens. Most likely she got nervous because just before the race Marika Popowicz suffered an injury in warm-up and was replaced by Aleksandra Formella. Additionally the Polish coach changed the order of runners and Anastazja had to run the first leg.

@@1523maciek yes that's true, but it doesn't change the fact that there's even some adult 400m runners who can't run much faster than Sydney and Femke's fastest times.... it's quite amazing how fast they are running over the hurdles, and they're both getting faster

@@kenisme1000 it's not a diss at all at the young Polish woman...or should I say more accurately adolescent, it's just a comparison to how fast they're running over the hurdles. Now obviously this 17 year old is going to get faster as she matures, but it's no less astounding what is happening in the women's 400m hurdles at the moment👍🏾

Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone and Femke Bol are top tier runners, they are in their prime. It is interesting fact that at the age of 17 Sydney had a slightly faster PB of 51.84, but Femke Bol was clearly slower (54.39).
