I didn't know we had those in the UK. Very cool. Look after yourselves lady keepers. Thanks for the video and if we see a video of an animal with a cone or suchlike stuck on it's head, we know where they got the idea.

You can find lots of polar bears in the 5 acre purpose-built enclosures at Yorkshire Wildlife Park near Doncaster, South Yorkshire. There are also polar bears in wildlife parks in Scotland but I'm sorry that I can't remember where. All part of the European Breeding Programme.

Seems odd doesn’t it, but in this warmer climate a total meat diet would not be sufficiently nutritious.

Good grief, people, the real issue is that we’re having to care for and protect these animals because we’re destroying their environment! I’m disheartened by the cavalier attitude toward climate change as if it’s someone else’s responsibility or that the remedy is up to the government. We are an incredibly wasteful nation.

The bears look very healthy but I have to say those fences look low and flimsy.
@debbieredfern22672 ай бұрын
I live near this place and I can assure you the fences are bigger than they look, strong and polar bear proof. They are so well looked after, it is lovely to see. They love the traffic cones, jumping into the pool with them and accidentally wearing them on their heads. Sad to say but their lives will be better here. But equally course we hold the responsibility of slowly destroying their natural environment.

I would absolutely love to be able to work /help at a place like this. How would someone go about this? Keep this going💯

Just what a polar bear wants to eat, vegetables. I hear they have a high vegetable intake in the wilds of the Arctic
@relaxingnature26176 ай бұрын
heres an idea - send the bears to freedom t. eg: baffin island or anywhere above the arctic circle -- enough with this warm weather prison
@fatdaddy19965 ай бұрын
It's a stupid idea. They were born in captivity. They'd starve.
@CarmenRodriguez-rj6my20 күн бұрын
Polar bears should not be in an artic place? Excuse my ignorance but I have always seen them living in the North Pole… 🤷♀️
@thomasbrigaitis5 ай бұрын
No meat i know some of this is good for them to eat as side dishes but bears require fish it's their protein that polar bears require for their bodies So when do the polar bears get fed that nourishment?
@Dee-JayW6 ай бұрын
They belong on Baffin Island not in this park!! How sad. 😢😢😢😢 🇨🇦

During the warming arctic summers it has been more common for polar bears to swim ungodly lengths to look for food and/or a place to rest. They have been known to scavenge whatever they can in desperate times. These bears are living the good life
@SurleyBlaine5 ай бұрын
If they didn't like them, they wouldn't eat them, it's extras. Polar bears eat kelp, berries and other stuff in the wild. They also like pumpkins, carrots, peanut butter, apples and more.
@Goldenhawk5835 ай бұрын
@@SurleyBlaine Right, so if they like them, its fine to eat them. That means I can eat all the candy I want, because i like it, you can do all the cocaine you want, because you like it, and Henry can just keep on pouring down vodka, because he likes it. Get my point? could you consider the possibilty that animals end up with human diseases because we feed them according to human tastes? Why dont we feed cows, deer, horses etc some meat? They will actively go and eat meat if it is available to them.. deer are a menace when it comes to baby birds. Why dont we add some meat to their veggies, but veggies to the meat?
