Exactly, polar bears rely on seasonal sea ice thin enough for seals and sea lions to make breathing holes or break up to form ice flows. Then in the summer, the sea lions and seals bask on land so the polar bears hunt on land. They don't need year-round glacier ice. They would starve to death on the glacial ice fields.

30% DECREASE IN BEARS IN BEAUFORT SEA "In recent years, polar bears in the Beaufort Sea have had to travel far outside of their traditional arctic hunting grounds which has contributed to an almost 30% decrease in their population," according to a study by Washington State University, as reported in Science Daily, Dec 14, 2021. The bears have been forced to move further and further north as the southern ice continues to melt away. POLAR BEARS IN BAFFIN BAY SKINNIER, HAVING FEWER CUBS DUE TO LESS SEA ICE That's according to satellite tracking and visual monitoring of bears by the University of Washington, as reported in Sci Daily, Feb 12, 2020. SOUTHERN HUDSON BAY BEARS DECLINE 17% The last survey of southern Hudson Bay bears by Obbard et al of the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry found a 17% decine in adults and a 50% decline in yearlings. ---Arctic Science, May 31, 2018 HUDSON BAY BEARS OVERALL DOWN 30% Hudson Bay had over 1200 bears in the 1980s but just 800 today, according to the most recent counts. (Source: Phys.org, Sep 29, 2022) POLAR BEARS FINDING IT HARDER TO CATCH ENOUGH SEALS TO MEET ENERGY DEMANDS More than half of the bears studied by the University of California at Santa Cruz, 'were running an energy deficit" and "were losing hody mass." ---Sci Daily, Feb 1, 2018. ON DENIER POLAR BEAR BLOGS AND THEIR MISINFORMATION "We found a major gap between the facts from scientific literature on the one hand, and the opinions aired in climate-change denying blogs on the other," says Jeff Harvey from the Netherlands Institute of Ecology (NIOO-KNAW), which studied polar bear misinformation across the internet. (Sci Daily Nov 29,, 2019) "It's a very dangerous gap, as these blogs are read by millions." The researchers analysed 90 climate blogs in total, alongside 92 scientific papers on the subject. Although 45 'denier blogs' claim to be based on science, they failed to overlap with the peer-reviewed evidence in the papers. Instead, they relied mostly on other denier blogs. And eighty percent relied on one blog in particular, whose author, says Harvey, "had neither conducted any original research nor published any articles in the peer-reviewed literature on polar bears." Bears around the Chukchi Sea, by contrast, are reportedly doing well, as this is an exceptionally rich area in seals. Bears in northern regions, such as in northern Greenland, are dong better than bears living around melting southern ice The polar bear population grew because we had previously SHOT THEM ALL IN THE 1950S AND 60S. Now that we're not doing that anymore, the population is increasing. Take note that the environment and animals do better when we take action to ward off disaster.

A bear standing on a small iceberg is not in any trouble at all because it is using the ice like a lookout. It will raise its nose and sniff for seals. That is really hard for the bear to do while it is swimming. Bears are great swimmers so don't think they are stranded on the iceberg.

Stick to the facts from the report. London, 27 February: 2023 marked 50 years of international cooperation to protect polar bears across the Arctic. Those efforts have been a conservation success story: from a population estimated at about 12,000 bears in the late 1960s, numbers have almost tripled, to just over 32,000 in 2023. The US Fish and Wildlife Service and the IUCN Polar Bear Specialist Group, in their 2023 reports, failed to officially acknowledge the new-found South-East Greenland population as the 20th subpopulation, despite undisputed evidence this is a genetically distinct and geographically isolated group. Numbers are estimated at 234 individuals.

The satellite data for the north pole has been collected since december 1972 but the 'official' record didn't start until 1978/1979. The 1972/73 ice maximum was similar to the current levels recorded and there were substantial gains until after the 1978/79 maximum that saw the maximum shrink until about 2012. It is common for them to cherry pick the data to suit the narrative.

Despite this dramatic increase in polar bear populations, claims that their numbers are falling due to climate change still dominate most media coverage. Since 2004 we have been told that polar bear numbers in Western Hudson Bay have been steadily declining, but a new study made public in 2023 reveals that this isn’t actually true. In the State of the Polar Bear Report 2023, published by the Global Warming Policy Foundation (GWPF) on International Polar Bear Day, zoologist Dr. Susan Crockford provides the details on this explosive news.

Polar bears just moved away from the ice towards land, and are fine. It puts them closer to grizzly habitats, but that’s fine. They’re basically the same species anyway and can interbreed.

The reduction in polar bear numbers was largely due to the unrestricted hunting of bears for trophies and rugs. Once the industry became regulated bear populations rapidly recovered because they are exquisitely adapted to their environment. They can easily swim 30 miles, and the longest recorded swim is thought to have been 220 miles. The bears can easily migrate as needed, to find food and suitable habitat, and hibernate during the coldest periods. They thrive and fatten up during the warm periods when the ice breaks up and recedes. The exact opposite is likely true, they would benefit the most from a warming climate as their range would expand.

The problem right now, is polar bear attacks. The government of Canada still has polar bears listed as endangered species, prohibiting the natives from hunting them, and they're starting to become over populated in some parts. The images they love to show, are polar bears that are sick or elderly and unable to hunt anymore, and this is what that looks like in nature. Why do we continually have to be told that man is responsible for climate change? How about a serious discussion on this subject where both sides are present!

Polar bear numbers have increased in part due to humans not killing them in numbers compared to the early and mid 20th century.

What you neglect to mention is that while there are more polar bears, because of climate change most of them are now on fire. I live in canada. And once a week we have to go put out a polar bear. It's our civic duty. Listen if you can believe that it's snowing because it's warmer than you can believe me on this one.

The russians have been laughing at the rest of us for years regarding polar bears. They've been saying there are record numbers of bears on their side of the pole. So many that they have a special drill thay go through when theyare sighted rummaging through the facilities and towns . Turns out that polar bears prefer less ice, as it forces their prey to the beaches, where it's easier hunting. It's hard work swimming up to an ice flow, then propelling ones' self up out of th ewater to MAYBE catch a seal. Once in the water, that seal is safe. But on the beach, it's chow. And that emaciated bear in National Geographic? Turns out it was a staged photo stunt by the "journalist photographer" to support the Green Agenda. The team followed thatbear for weeks, taking pictures of it while it starved, eventauilly dying a natural death by disease. Even though the scandal broke, NG did not fire that journalist for months - presumably until after he/she got a better gig somewhere.

Thank you for telling me something that I already knew! I agree with you, even without the data, just have a look at what people who live within the Artic circle have to do to survive. Outside towns they have to carry guns to scare the bears away, they are not allowed to shoot them unless absolutely necessary. Now would they have to do this if the population is declining rapidly? Probably not. Anyway, thank you again for an informative video and all the best from Sydney Australia 🇦🇺

Every decade since the 1950’s they kept telling us that oil will run out in ten years, it’s just a way to keep the prices up. Also I bet the Dodo never existed, I’m beginning to think now that the dinosaurs never existed.

Them bears is white! They obviously stole the arctic from its original inhabitants: brown bears. And don’t get me started on how the black bears were the first to discover & explore the arctic. Now - as to panda & koala bears. Isn’t it obvious? They are just so cute and fuzzy! They used to be ordinary CIS-bears, but then blossomed into “trans bears”. They realized they’d been born in the wrong body, but then blow drying, hair dyes and a perm would reveal their true selves. They’re the Rue Paul Pandas and Queen Koalas of nature! ❤️

Funny thing about wildlife or maybe not so funny is they go through cycles of feast and famine, to many predators not so much prey, predators die off and prey rebounds and the cycle starts all over again.

Thank you for this. You come across as reasonable and THAT is anathema to these Catastrophists. They are doing to Susan the same thing they did to the authors of both The Bell Curve and The Global Bell Curve, as well as the recent report that debunked the transing kids is good argument. Thinking back this has always been a 'thing' Tesla, Vendramini and even Robert Sephre have suffered this.

The seals need the ice to haul out on to get away from the bears and have their pups. If they haul out on the beach the bears really have a field day.
