I am so grateful that I have been able to see Paul in concert. It was at the Royal Albert Hall in London in 2016. I will never forget it. Paul’s personality came through…..it wasn’t just him singing and performing his songs to the audience….it was a show that was like you were his friends at his place. It felt personal and intimate. He is so much more than a great musician. He is a deep thinking soul, who has moved so many generations. He’s covered every emotion…..and left an impact on everyone who ever listens to him speak and sing. That’s my humble opinion anyway. ❤

Love of my life. And I am not ashamed to admit this. He isn't only a huge part of my life, he is a part of myself. I would not be what I am without him. I am fifty years old and loved him from the Sixties on. May he be healthy and happy and live forever.

Paul Simon's voice is so soothing, I love to hear him explain the little details of how he comes at creating a song. It's both fascinating and a melody all its own.

Certainly a most fascinating man. So talented and rich in thought. Paul Simon will be compelled to always be creating. I joyfully await your next work! With respect 💐💕

10:26 Paul McCartney said the same, his best songs just came to him and he doesn't even know how. What a precise thinker Paul Simon is!

Paul Simon speaking about his childhood musical discoveries reminds me of myself. At least one of us became creative.

Hes so special....hey Paul!!....its very interesting that his lyrics never came first.....for me, maybe half of the songs I ve ever written, start with lyrics.....then phrasing n melody.....then guitar......Sometimes the guitar work first will inspire vocal melody. You never know....it is kinda strange. I never work very hard on making one happen though, they usually come fairly easy to start. To finish them is another story...Paul has given us some of the best........Hank, Bob n Mr. Mcartney.......3 of the AllStars favorite AllStars.....What diversity.....Music/Magic......Thanks again for this interview

His recordings, his song writing really became heavily reliant on rhythms - African, South American etc - I wis he would make an album of songs that were like those Brill Building songs - under three minutes with a strong hook - catchy pop songs like Feeling Groovy, Red Rubber Ball, etc -

I agree with Paul Simon that CD’s are just too long. I thought so when they first appeared and continue to think so but that may be a moot point nowadays.

Paul seems down and out,,,,,a very slight malaise....Im not sure if it means he is depressed or tired from traveling. Jet lag can kick your butt.

I almost fell asleep trying to listen to this. Paul drones on at such a slow pace that I wonder if he remembers the question. Artie’s interviews are so much easier to listen to - articulate & brilliant
@katharina81012 жыл бұрын
It might be true that he has been a little tired due to traveling. But I absolutely like the way he speaks about what inspires him to write his beautiful songs. He is a really a genius and in contrast to Garfunkel he really has something to say.

He knows who his real peers are though. Bob and. Joni Mitchell.

All the people he chose are great melodicists. Maybe that's why he didn't choose Dylan - his music is mainly about the lyrics and (to my ears) not so melodic as the others he mentioned. Just a theory, anyway...

LoL He will NOT say "Dylan" for love or money! Sorry Paul, for all the technique you've picked up over the years, you'll never be Dylan. And Ira Gerswhin was a brilliant lyricist - you don't need $10 words on every line to write great lyrics.

Allora smettila di commentare i video delle interviste di Paul, se le ritieni così noiose, e vai su quelli di Art.
@katharina81012 жыл бұрын
@@graziellabarile8425 So true, some people here a really making a fool of themselves with their comments. Always repeating the same drivel praising Garfunkel and bashing Paul Simon. The reason for this behavior seems to be the same jealousy that Garfunkel always showed towards Simon. How petty.
@feelgood6622 жыл бұрын
Definitely better than Garfunkel’s pretentious ramblings.
@Peter-fw4fo Жыл бұрын
@@feelgood662 I don’t think we hear from Garfunkel again. He finally realized that his voice is shot and canceled his concerts for ever.
