I know this is an older post but did you wire your battery charger cable to the battery connections under the hood or to the battery directly?
@GeneralTalkWithBen2 жыл бұрын
To the hood connections. The lines go directly to the battery.

Awesome work. Did you fabricate your headliner?
@GeneralTalkWithBen5 жыл бұрын
No. It’s the Polaris OEM premium roof (same roof, but it includes the headliner).

Have to ask since it's been over 2.5 years. How have the LED lights held up?
@GeneralTalkWithBen4 жыл бұрын
I’ve never really had an issue with long-term life on LEDs. However, I did have a couple of problems with the “dome” type bolt LEDs (like the ones I used for the reverse lights and the dome light-example: amzn.to/3dX23Ax). The dome fell off on a couple of them. Fortunately, I found them and superglued them back on. As for them working-no issues, though. And LEDs are always very bright.

which one is ground on the tail lights
@GeneralTalkWithBen5 жыл бұрын
I don’t remember exactly, but I think you can look at the wire and tell (I’m pretty sure the ground is a brown or black cable).

How are the led backup lights attached? and do you have a part number?
@GeneralTalkWithBen5 жыл бұрын
The video description has a link to the LEDs I used. The wiring uses a standard 12v automotive relay, but it’s wired using ground as a trigger using the OEM wiring. If you look in the comments, I think there’s a link to the wiring diagram, but you can also look on the Polaris General forums and find it there, too.

General Talk with Ben does a nut go on the back side? Or are they glued in?
@GeneralTalkWithBen5 жыл бұрын
There’s a nut on the rear. You can pull the panel off the side of the bed (one screw at the front when you lift the bed, then pull out) and reach in to tighten it (I used a little bit of locktite as well).
@jefffrank61064 жыл бұрын
Nice setup! My bolt lights came today, how did you connect the wires to the relay? The wires are vary small.
@tahoe98134 жыл бұрын
jeff frank the relay gets wired as a ground trigger rather than a positive trigger. I don’t have the link handy, but if you search on the polarisgeneralforums.com you will find the diagram. It’s very easy, and you wire it up like normal, but in the ground trigger position. As to the small wires, be sure you solder or get a very good crimp, and use shrink tubing on the end to help keep it supported. You can also double the wires over, too.

Where did you find the head liner that looks sharp i want one for mine thanks have a great day be safe.
@GeneralTalkWithBen5 жыл бұрын
It came with the factory “premium” roof kit. I had seen that there was some difficulty in ordering just the headliner if you already had the roof, but that may have changed.

How did you get the reverse light in the bed?
@GeneralTalkWithBen5 жыл бұрын
Remove the side panels (tilt the bed, then remove the single screw at the front). You can then reach down into the void to connect everything.

Hi Ben, Enjoyed the video and those Eagle Eye LED lights look awesome.Ive never wired anything other than the plug and play turn signals and horn kit on my General,but would like to wire my reverse lights like you did on here. Do you ever go into alittle more detail for us beginners on lighting?
@GeneralTalkWithBen5 жыл бұрын
Here’s the key post from the General forums (“Reverse Lights?” Is the name of the post string, and the below is from post 41): 86 - Red wire from light and red/purple wire from harness 85 - Black/White from harness 87 - Black wire from light 30 - Ground This is how you wire up the relay to come on in reverse without a switch. Do not use the middle 87

What size relay would you use for those lights?
@tahoe98137 жыл бұрын
It was just a standard 40 amp relay. Here's the set I had purchased from Amazon: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B017VDI0GY.
