We have another one of the 'lemon' type Polaris ATVs. It is the same as the 570, but with 325cc. We had the same observation about the battery location. The ECU is not correctly calibrated. It measures the voltage as 1.1V less than it really is, and fails to run if the battery is not fully charged. We fixed it by throwing out the battery and fitting a bigger on on the rear part of the left footrest. It has a connector for a smart charger, and an isolator switch. We also took out the stupid rear lights. You can't switch them off, and they are so powerful they melt the plastic around them. They also increase the time it takes for the generator to bring the battery back up after starting. Well, all that was a year ago. Recently the machine was being used and just stopped. The fault is exactly the same as in this video. We had the machine from new, and it has done only 145 hours. Next problem is that the cooling fan hardly ever runs, and the engine gets quite hot, sometimes.

Yep, thank goodness for others posting How to videos so we can do the job ourselves. There must have been a reason for the filter in the tank. Like people dropping dirt and sticks in their tanks when filling and messing up the pump. I hate that when you have extra parts when you are done with the job. FOR SALE
@HeritageFarmsTexas3 жыл бұрын
Heard the reason for the pump in the tank is to cool the pump.

Well, in all honesty, I did it two times. First I forgot the rubber spacer, second time to repair fuel sender. Ugh. I’m no mechanic. Thanks for watching.

you did a nice repair on your Polaris so come on up. My Caddy needs an in-tank fuel pump and it looks just like that one on your Polaris.. just larger. Now you know why I haven't changed it in 3 years of owning the car... I wont be buying a Honda as a replacement for the Caddy though LOL I 'll buy the beer !

@@HeritageFarmsTexas Cadillac had electronic Bosch fuel injection and in-tank pumps on the 1976 Seville 5.7L gas engine. Mine was next in line with Digital Fuel Injection. I was truly surprised we had it in 1976.

Did you fix the fuel sending unit? Maybe I missed it but I didn't hear you say why it wasn't working and what you did to fix it.

Yes, I took it apart and had to adjust it. It works now, but it’s not totally accurate. When full, shows 3/4 full. Oh well.

I bought a brand new Polaris 1000 XP sportsman hunter edition 2018... Put just 700 miles on it and the fuel pump went out don't mind telling you I was seriously pissed off !!! Took a back to Polaris and had to fight with them to cover it because the bike was no longer on warranty they did end up covering it but how can you trust these machines when you can't trust the one part in the entire mechanism the weakest link the fuel pump to perform for long periods of time Dam left me 20 miles in the backcountry and I'm not the only 1 that's had the same problem my son-in-law's 570 fuell pump went out on him to this is ridiculous they're supposed to be high end pumps !! from Bosh what the hell !! I haven't had any problems sense but am seriously concerned about taking any long trips For fear of getting stranded in the back country !! From what I'm finding out the pump in the 570 in the pump in the 1000 X p's are exactly the same where did you get your rebuild kit? I'm with you on performance the motor and drive train system are amazing but it's absolutely unbelievable how cheap Polaris went on so many things I hear a lot of problems with Polaris one mechanic told me if you want a Smooth and fast ride by a Polaris but if you want a bike that you don't have to fix all the time by something else !! I switched over from Yamaha to Polaris thinking that it was an upgrade but definitely not they're Not well built !!
@HeritageFarmsTexas3 жыл бұрын
Sorry you’re having issues as well. I bought the rebuild kit somewhere on Amazon. Not sure. I’m mot a fan of Polaris.

I've had 2 people tell me that it could be 1 of 2 things they think.... Number one I was told there's a possibility that the pre filter on the pump is getting plugged with the debree and starving the pump itself and burning it up !! The 2nd thing was someone told me from Polaris to just make sure I keep my fuel tank topped off because when your fuel gets low and gets warm it my overheat the pump which is the stupidest thing I've ever heard why should I have to worry about that !! so as of now I don't let my tank go more than A quarter to a 1/2 down before I refill and I bought a filtered fuel funnel on Amazon and filter all my fuel going into the bike who knows if that will make a difference !! $13000 bike and I'm afraid did take it anywhere without it breaking down Polaris sucks !! Thanks for your comment enjoyed your video !!
