Thanks dude. The screw driver/cocked brake pad thing worked, but one of the pins would not budge for nothing. Even with the vise grip trying to wiggle it. So I had to use a little heat with a propane torch, just low enough to heat the pin, slow and low as I didn't want to introduce a lot of heat in the piston o rings. Kept juicing it up as well as I was doing it and finally the screw driver method got it to pop out.

Dude this is a great video. I have 2 of these bikes and do all the work on them myself this video was very helpful.

Glad it helped. The rear brake is a pain to do.

I have a trail boss 350 and the bleeder screw was broken off. after i saw a new rear caliper was $150+, i took the whole line off and bought a block off screw to run the front brakes only

Well I am not going to condon doing this as the rear brakes do help on downhills and emergency situations. You could beeld it by cracking open the bango bolt on the caliper as well instead of the bleed screw. It will make a mess doing that. Either way is cheaper then a new ATV!

Max there is a bolt on the top of the emergency brake arm. It's there when to take the caliper off but not when you put it back on. Why? how do you adjust that screw?
@MakerMaxCorbett2 жыл бұрын
You need to adjust the lever so it does not drag on the brake but works when you step on the lever. The foot brake is mechanical and does not work great to begin with. I never use mine.

Hi..great video..I'm changing my rear pads right now..that lever on my brakes wont move back and forth is that because they need to be bleed ? It feels solid and only moves alittle bit...it seems pretty hard to bleed the back caliber on these Polaris quads..any advice u could give me would be great. Thank you.

You need to loosen that bolt sticking out of the brake caliper. It is for the foot brake. Once the caliper is back together and on the rotor there is a bleed screw on top I think you can loosen. It might be seized if it has not been touched in 10 years. A friend broke his off, but it did not leak. I did not even try and just left it. There is very little room to work if the foot well is still on it.

I drilled the ends of the pins and then used an EZ Out to get the pins out

One of my pins are seized, any idea how to get it out, the needle nose arent working, it's just sliding around the pin instead of twisting it out
@MakerMaxCorbett3 жыл бұрын
You can try using vice grips. Clamp on the pin, rotate it. Put PB Blaster on the pins. Try heating the caliper with a torch, not too much as you can melt the rubber seals. Might need to buy a new caliper if you can't get it.

@@MakerMaxCorbett I got it, i had to really clamp down on the pin though

Does anybody know why my polaris rear foot brake piston isn’t coming back in when I push on the brakes ?
@MakerMaxCorbett4 жыл бұрын
Sounds like the piston is stuck. Did you try both the hand lever which uses hydraulics and the foot lever which is mechanical? You can take the rear caliper off and put a air compressor to it. Try to blow the piston out. You will need new seals if you do that.
