The 7SDD only has enough internal battery to keep the time accurate. If the snowmobile is not equipped with a battery, the 7SDD may shutdown and have to reboot, when the PERC is used to go from forward to reverse and back. Also when the key is turned off. If it has a battery, and the key is left on, but the engine is stopped with the emergency kill switch on the handlebar, or stalls, the 7SDD will run for 10 minutes of inactivity, and then shutdown. Whenever the key was OFF and then the key is turned ON, the 7SDD will boot up, even without the engine running.

Well done video, there are a lot of us looking forward to using the 7SDD on our Polaris Matryx this winter. These gauges have very good quality high resolution screens, the autodimming is nice. They zoom in and out very quickly.

How does the 7SDD work on a sled that doesnt have a battery? Will in need to reboot every time the sled is on/off or does it have its own internal battery?
