Kurzes Zeitraffervideo zur Polarstern-Expedition PS97 in die Drake Passage und zur Antarktischen Halbinsel. Die Drake Passage ist die wichtigste geographische Engstelle für den Antarktischen Zirkumpolarstrom und spielt somit eine herausragende Rolle für die heutige Ozeanzirkulation und das globale Klima.
Während der Expedition wurden geologische und biologische Proben genommen, um die regionale Klimaentwicklung
zu rekonstruieren und in den heutigen Kontext zu bringen.

The Drake Passage forms the major geographical constraint for the flow of the Antarctic Circumpolar Current and plays an essential role in the modern ocean circulation patterns and global climate. This expedition
was conducted to gather geological and biological samples, which are used to reconstruct the evolution of regional
climatic conditions as well as to put these findings into the modern context.
