I'm a home inspector in Maryland and I was considering getting my faa 107. Some of the big named training academies were ready to take my money even after asking them about my service area, the Maryland section on the DC metro. They never said, "hey your in a 30 mile no fly zone". I'll be building a pole rig with the money I was going to spend on the drone and regulatory junk.

Frustrating, it's almost like there needs to be another class of "vehicle" for this situation. I'm in location where it is practically an impossibility to get every permission required to operate a UAS, and I understand why these rules exist, as a UAS pilot, I can go to a different location, but as a homeowner, shouldn't I have the right to use a camera to inspect my roof? Do I not own any of the airspace around my property? There is an airport(as well as many other concerns)nearby, so I understand the concerns, but it seems like 30' or possibly 50' shouldn't be the concern of the FAA. The kicker is that they completely rewrote all UAS rules to accommodate Amazon, who then decided, "Nah, too hard, we're good, thanks"

Well done and helpful - Thanks! If you have a minute, I have some questions because I am considering this kind of gear, although I only have room in my vehicle for the Doca 6-24'. Does the GoPro and App on your phone have ANY reliability issues or persistent problems? Is your mobile device an iPhone (model?), or an Android? And finally, are you happy with the GoPro you are using, or would you recommend a different camera? Thanks again!

What friction mount is that? I have both the pole and GoPro but unsure of the mount to attach?

Any tripod mount for the pole, so I don't have to hold the pole?

i wouldnt trust a tripod for a 30 foot pole because of wind
