I've watched a few buildings get built on KZbin. I've never seen someone lift the trusses with purlins as an assembly. Clever. Looking good.

In Alberta we did this quite often. Largest one was a 5000sf roof that was going on a 10k sf 2 storey house. The roof was in two parts and completely closed in with plywood already. Fun times!

its kind of funny that this guy is a builder, cause he is built like a brick house !!! not overly huge like a body builder, but solid as a rock !

Excellent I've watched another video that lifted their trusses in bulk but they had fabricated steel that bolted in on layout and yours worked just as well without the cost of the steel

Wow, not bad on the crane bill. We use cranes frequently where I work and even for a small 20 ton crane it's at least $500+ even if it only takes an hour (doesn't matter the company, they all charge 3-4 hour min.)

I've been excited for this espisode all week long! My wife and I live in Coal Mountain and purchased a farm up in Dahlonega earlier this year with no structures on it. We're looking to build a monitor barn like this for a future tractor and other equipment. Did you hire an architect for the plans, find them online or make them yourself?

Wow on the cost, what state are you in ? Looks like lumber cost is back to a decent price? Was it store bought or at a mill direct ? Love all the hard work

You are doing an excellent job in speed and budget, but some beam to post connections may not be strong enough. I would get some experts to take a look, considering dead load, snow load, wind load and possible earthquake proof. At least add lots of bolts.

That total cost seems insanely low. I just spent $2K in materials to build a 10x12 shed. Apparently I got ripped off?

Watching how you sized your beams and spaced your trusses I can tell you are not in a snow load zone. Here the Trusses are 24" on center and the beam they rest on would be at least 4 2x14. It is a bit odd watching you build to code that has no snow load.

When you first said that you would like the trusses to be lifted as one lift I thought you must be brain dead then the crane operator showed more common sense and made the two lifts.

Not really, it's good to know someone that will "help" us out should they need some construction work or had construction work done down the road. DIY's make a lot of friends because we never know when we will need a helping hand. $200 bucks is a great deal!! That will cover fuel cost only and not even a full tank.
