I feel I should drop a comment, first off.. I dig the hat. I wear what people call my 'old man hat' daily. Im drinking wine out of one right now and had to come back to see how it was made. I imagine carving in this style is very soothing, the sound of the blade and rotation of the wood blank. You can go at your own pace which is even better. That means your mood and thoughts are sort of installed in each one. For anyone wondering what the finished product looks like... you have to go to his website and see them. They're unreal.. olde world feel... almost like they were taken from a museum. Yet they're new, alive and fresh. Makes me wonder what your bowls will look like ten years from now.

I’m enjoying the way you work, it’s a shame there is no sound as it would be great to hear commentary on what it is you are doing and why.

Nice clean finish, nice crisp little incised lines to the rim as well. LOL I winced when you considered using the gansfors carver axe as a hammer-then thought better of it....

You make it look so easy - it takes me hours to complete a bowl and then it's nowhere near this quality... yet.

I dig your channel and what you choose to labor over. I'm in NW Wisconsin too, we should meet. I think we have some common interests. Mark

Hej Jarrod, how do you dry the bowls, so that they don't crack? And second question, how fresh/greenis the wood You are using?

What type of string are you using? My latest tests have been a bit of miss. Only last 1 to 3 bowls before they snap.
