My Dad was an aircraft mechanic during WW2 there. He was there at the end and went home on the Queen Elizabeth when it served as a troop ship. I wish I talked to him more.

My father was with the 351, J Squadron. Flew on Wildfire, they called him Wiley. 44 missions

Clark Gable was a bombardier and Jimmy Stewart was a Squadron Commander there.

Hi Henry , the James Stewart stationed at Polebrook wasn’t the film star . He was based in a different part of the country.
