The bag fits more than I expected including my dog's 12 ounce water bottle. It has an adjustable crossbody strap with 5 holes (about 1.5" apart) that is 39.5" at the shortest length and 45.5" at the longest length. I am 5' 2.5" (158.75 cm) tall and I wear the bag on the second hole which is 41" (for a 20.5" drop length). In the video I initially adjusted it to the shortest strap length.

Update 9/12/22: While I loved the design of the Tonca bag I didn't reach for the bag enough so I recently sold it on Poshmark. The bag wasn't as versatile as I hoped despite the neutral color. On a related note, Polene just opened their first store in the US today in Soho, New York and I read that they will be expanding their line to include jewelry and shoes (source: ww.fashionnetwork.com/news/Le....

You're welcome! The Tonca would not fit any books unless they were smaller than a continental size wallet which is highly unlikely.

Is it good as casual everyday bag? Would you reco chalk over taupe? I’m really eyeing this bag, but I am a lazy dresser so I want something that fits my lifestyle. Something carefree but still chic.

As a lazy dresser myself I found the chalk color and the curves of the bag doesn't really fit my style/summer wardrobe. To be honest I'm leaning towards selling my Tonca bag on Poshmark. I prefer my Celine Pico belt bag for example so I would love if I could get a similar neutral color bag for the summer. I also like my Ecru colored Cuyana Mini backpack although the magnet on the magnetic flap could be stronger.

@@chelsied7138 Yes perhaps too formal. There's something about the curved shape and also how the bag sticks out a bit that always seems "off" when I try it on with a lot of my outfits (summer dresses). I end up not carrying it. :( They also came out with more colors after I ordered chalk so perhaps a different neutral color would have been more versatile/easy to match than chalk. I really wish they had stores here in the States where we could try on the bags because I've eventually sold a lot of the Polene bags I've purchased.

I really like the size for essentials and the style a lot but it's not the most versatile bag in my collection due to the unique shape and design. It doesn't work with some athleisure outfits for example so I'm reaching for my other bags instead. I don't need another small black bag but I think that classic black would have been a lot more versatile for how I typically dress than the chalk color.

Apologies for the late reply. Chalk is a light grey in person. I wish they offered a true white color as an option.

Have you had color transfers esp when wearing denim?

I actually have not worn denim in a long time. I wear a lot of dresses in the summer. It is a lighter color so color transfer is always possible if you wear darker denim or a new wash that still "bleeds". Soaking in a vingar mixture might help to prevent color bleeding although I have not tried it myself.
