I certainly hope that the new leadership finds a viable path forward.

Polestar should build hybrid engines into their current and future models. In terms of pricing, they are already losing a big chunk of the ev market to china brands which are very competitive price with gov subsidies. This china brands car design and build comes additional functions, better materials etc. All renowned brands from japan, euro etc are not going full ev for the next few decades. It will be a real pity, if polestar fail because of ev market share. Polestar 3 and 4 deserves to have a hybrid engine. More ppl will buy.

Hybrids are doomed. This is the most complicated system, you still have to change oil etc. Advancements in batteries (energy density, charging speed) will be rapid, so will the decline in battery costs. It does not make sense to invest in dying technology (ICE). Besides, you cannot just put an engine in the car that was design to be EV only. The problem is not in EV demand, Tesla sells 450 000 cars a quarter, so there's plenty of cake to take from Tesla. Problem for Polestar (and others) is they focus and spend money on wrong things, (ESG, ads, Lidar and other b..sh.t) instead of basics, which is: how to make car production efficient.

@@koszalekopalek9068 Wrong. I live in China since 10 years and long range PHEV are best selling segment. Basically every model is offered as pure EV or PHEV. But these cars dont even exist in europe. Imagine Li auto and Aito brands all have 150km of battery range + petrol engine. Także zapraszam do Chin trochę otworzyć oczy:) pozdro

@@GallAnonim-jx2cz Have been living in Northern Europe for >10years now, in a country where 94% of cars sold in August were BEV. You can still improve energy density in batteries (extend range or lower the weight, whatever), long way to go there, but energy density of fuel (bensin or diesel) will remain the same, as will the efficiency of Internal COmbustion Engine). Pozdrawiam rowniez :)
