Seriously, how could you think that this is not good? Above all else, this is a rockin' band that can kick arse without even trying.

I hate how people are talking smack ...you guys have to admit people age and things change but these guys are musical geniouses and amazing as hell...downright one of my favorite bands...they still rock and i love how they tinker with time changes in concert.

I like this intimate room setting. It makes their playing more intimate, and they have room to jam, talk to the audience, make jokes, etc. Somehow the bigger stadiums for just the three of them seems fine, but I like this one better.

The Police are the "goods". They proudly display ethnic influences (reggae, blues, soul, world) while rocking as hard as any band in the land. It's a rare mix that the music business still hasn't caught up with. Good to see them back. It's good for music.
@tragicallyhiprule16 жыл бұрын
Andy Summers is one of the most under rated guitarists of all time. For being 65, he plays like hes the youngest in the band.

Saw Police in Manchester and their version of 'World is Running Down' totally rocked. I was blown away by the way they shifted through the gears on this one: drums, bass and guitar all at the top of the dial. Sting gets some stick but in my eyes he is totally cool. Blueside

I have to agree with Brilliantbeing. The Police are unbelievable for a three man band. The way that the fuse reggae with jazz with rock is incredible. There are just so many layers to thier music. Thow it was just a jam session, the jam session takes me back to being 14 again waiting for them to come to my town. Great decision to bring the majic of the Police back!

That was mind blowing. Love The Police, love Andys guitar playing in this small intimate setting, the man is a guitar monster.

A lot of you obviously don't understand what they meant by 'rehearsal performance'. This was just a no pressure have a laugh press conference thingie which is why i really like it. Of course they're going to be a well oiled tight musical machine by the time the tour started.

I don't know what all these people are listening to--this was a fabulous performance. All of those people were so lucky to be there in that intimate environment and hearing 3 of the greatest musicians ever. One of the best bands ever.

And this shows just how GOOD they are at their craft. Even when improvising, their muscle memory is fluid. Stewart, Sting, Andy, if I could, I would shake your hands and say "thanks." for giving me something to strive for as a musician.

I am just so happy. Reunite The Police. Faith to the world. Running down. Get the best of what's still around. Whoo - it's just the best announcement this spring.

THIS SET WAS ABSOLUTELY BANANAS!!!! my head is bent behind these two songs, especially that impromptu Voices revamping... i'm blown away

This is called saving the show. On stage the show MUST go on, and that is exactely what Stewart does here. If you've been on stage yourself you know how important it is to keep things going on stage. I think it is pretty cool to see how a band like The Police keeps the show going no matter what happens.
@rittersoftlan17 жыл бұрын
yeah, that's really true. Stewart Copeland is definitely one of the most amazing and influential drummers of all time. It's so much fun just to watch him play, watch his movements, the energy and passion in every beat.

I was truly the luckiest Police fan alive. I attended this set at the Whisky a go-go and stood elbow to elbow with Quest -Love of all people and we all rocked our minds off during this unbelievable mini concert to announce their tour. I am in this video several times when they pan to the crowd. It was unreal and I will never every forget it. I told my wife it will be mentioned in my eulogy as one of the most incredible experiences of my life. The Police are the total real deal, uber influential to so many artists that most younger listeners haven't a clue. ENJOY !!!!

Ok they definately do not have the same tightness and power that they used to have, BUT they still display their special abilities, which are: playing in a very individual and original style,listening very great to each other and being fueled by stus impeccable drumming. I just love them.Especially stewart he still has that big intesity going on. I was definately moved to tears the first time i saw this and realized that i will actually be seing them live.

Set list or not the truth is that the one of the most influential bands ever. So lets repect the fact, they're together and they're sounding incredible. Right now those guys ca "fart" on stage and all of us have to shut up and smile, and you know why? because they have done some of the most incredible songs amusic in music history. So let's admire the fact that they got together and for those of you who never had a chance to see them before they broke up in '84 - ENJOY!!!

Sorry 1DavidSun, this is for the masses of fans who never got to see em first time around - I don't care about new songs right now (although I guarantee you there will be some) as preptic says - this is a dream come true. I've waited so long for this - I never believed I would have the opportunity to see them live - they played in Ireland when I was 12 and my mum wouldn't let me go! OLD SHIT?!!!! Old classics my friend.

Ever read those comments which say how easy it is to play like Summers on guitar hero II (some gimmick in bars)? Try playing his stuff from Synchronicity, or his solo stuff of the past 20 years! Underrated is an understatement. Bloody awesome player (and well-suited to jazz-fusion).

I knew of Sting as a solo artist, growing up I wasn’t a fan I thought his solo work was kinda dry and tamed. However when he’s with The Police he’s more electric in punk rocker way playing with two badass musicians. They bring out a better side of him in my opinion.

AS is a Jazz guitarist primarily and he's challenging the listener with his atonal stuff, forcing our perspective on where the tonal centre is. When he does it it's brilliant and well thought out, when I do it, it sounds like garbage. :-D

You really have to be on top of your shit as a musician to play like this. Sting is basically working as conductor here and andy and Stewart really have to follow his lead. Kudos to Andy for pulling that solo out of his ass. Not bad for a 60 something year old in an empromtu performance
