Cool stuff dude we have a huge benefit ride every year which was about 4000 bikes this year and the officers from a couple of counties that lead block fallow and just ride along always set up at the end and do a demonstration and it's always the biggest attraction. So thanks guys and gals for everything

What I say is the more you drag today, the more you can lean tomorrow. Serious question guys... What do you do to fix the occasional rear end wobble on your high speed left/right turns? I was a motor officer from the mid 70s to the early 80s. Riding those AMF FLH's everyday was the best assignment I ever had.
@RyanUrlacher7 жыл бұрын
Rock on Jim! Super cool you were a Motor Officer. Damn right....done alot of things in my 22 year career. Motors is the BEST thing I've ever done.......14 and newer models the wobble is gone. Fixed it in many frame modifications. The bike I'm riding in this video is a 13 Electra. Stil has wobble some at higher speeds. Just lean in and put some pressure on the inside. Roll of the throttle ever so slightly and it goes away. Then you can power down again.

Ryan Urlacher That's good iinfo right there! I don't have the problem as bad because I'm on an '05 Softail Heritage, now with double darkside tiring, 2" over forks & tins, intiminator valves and anti-stiction fork oil, but those are cornering mods, not to cure wobble. You could sneeze on the stocker and hit the boards!
@colinmanion49883 жыл бұрын
Serious question...I note a lot of centre line hugging and even head over centre line on left hand corners...correct or error. really not trying to be a smart ass but I would have thought from training I have had that it is not the best line...we call centre line riding on tight corners the suicide line.... I do have total respect for the USA Cops and love watching the Police Rodeos and training days... I could only wish to have such great skills but I do try....LOL

Ryan, I was wondering if during the high speed part of the course if you ever experienced the high speed wobble on your Harley. I used to ride a 2008 Ultra and experienced it. I corrected it with a frame stabilizer. That bike is history after I t-boned a deer at about 65 mph and almost died three years ago. I currently ride a 2014 SGS like yours and have not experienced a wobble on that bike.
@RyanUrlacher7 жыл бұрын
HD fixed that issue with the changes they made in 2009. Lurch experienced the wobble on his 2008 Street Glide. He fixed it with the GlidePro stabilizer kit. Ride safe & Ride Often! I ride a bunch of different courses. I don't remember on that particular course as I didn't set it up. On my regular home course it is a tight 17' 6" keyhole circle. I can tell those circles in this video we were running are bigger than that.

Yes..thank you so much for the video 😃! I was kinda hoping in this video u would show "chicken strip" on both tyres after all that peg scrapping. How can u tell u still have traction left when u lean the bike that far ? I always get this fear of losing traction on the rear when cornering the bike at high speed...

Hi Ryan , I've been following your video's for a while now and I'm really interested to do some training myself ,, I'm a HOG chapter member here in Belgium and we do some training sometimes near our dealership , but would it be possible to get the training pattern and measurements of the cone training course , it would be fun to do these exercises over here with our chapter members to get a better handle of our bikes ,,, anyway, love your blogs , keep on the good work ,,, grtz Phil

Always enjoy your posts and figured you're the man to ask, I have a '17 SGS and would always drag the boards especially in tight u-turns but recently changed rear shocks to Ohlins HD159 13" not the standard 12" will I still be able to lean to point of scraping or have I changed geometry that much with 1" that lean won't permit scraping

Nope, the floorboards will still scrape if leaned enough.
