That looked like she committed an act of assault with a weapon because he didn't touch her before she used it,yeah he was a bit of a scumbag but at that point he asked for her number so there was no need to use the pepper spray until he touched her,she could get charged for what she did,it would have been self defense if he put his hands on her but it was retaliation what she did.

They need our support in this, rather than our criticism.

@Lee Cosey, I am a man and I never think that it is OK for men to do things like this. It actually makes me cringe when I see or hear about such things. What bothers me, is that there are men, who think this is the only or best way to get a woman’s attention. Much better is to talk in places and situations that are non-threatening. Do not make sexual references, even as a joke, and don’t ask if she has a boyfriend. This is even more important in a one on one situation. Stop talking if the woman is not interested in talking to you, and go about your day. Don’t try to force the situation. If she wants to talk to you, you will soon know. But most importantly, don’t get aggressive if they don’t want to talk to you.

@TheSnowdogsShorts2 жыл бұрын
I am a man and this is my story. About 40 years ago, when I was about 18, I was working in construction. I used to walk to the local bakery to pick up lunch. One hot day as I walked past a factory, I was wearing a sleeveless T-shirt and tight jeans. There were about 30 women sitting on the grass out the front, having their lunch. They catcalled me and made many rude and offensive comments and had a very aggressive attitude. It got even worse when I turned red from embarrassment. It didn’t stop until one woman stood up for me and told them to leave me alone. I was so grateful that she did. I was very shy back then. I felt embarrassed, humiliated, and frightened. I was terrified to walk past that factory after that. Most men never experience this in their lives, while just about every woman does, and not just the one time like I did. When I see men catcalling women, it brings back those awful memories. If I am nearby when it happens, I remember the woman who spoke out, and I do the same. Sadly the result is rarely the same though, and it carries on regardless of what I say. But staying quiet is not an option for me. What’s more, if the woman being targeted hears my protests, it might help bring small comfort, and make her feel a little safer in that awful situation. I know the kind woman’s words brought me some comfort, even before the others backed off.

Wow. I do understand her anger and frustration, having been made the recipient of lewd and unwanted advances. That being said, I do believe that in THIS case, she crossed the line, becoming a criminal herself. Self defense would not apply. First, She walks up to the guy, entirely of her own volition, pulls out her spray, and, following one comment, sprays the guy in the face. From what I remember from my criminal law classes, that makes HER the initial aggressor. Second, the amount of spray used was wholly disproportionate to any risk she actually faced. (I think she use the whole can.) Third, in the second encounter, she exits the building, sees the guy (before he sees her,) takes SEVERAL moments to make up her mind, and, with an evil smile, walks up with her can of vengeance. She could have availed herself of the "opportunity to flee," and gotten the heck out of there, but did not. Her actions are entirely indicative of her intent. She wanted revenge for the first encounter. Unfortunately, when it comes to justice and revenge, the law respects the former and condemns the latter.
@hallowsworld49312 жыл бұрын
I can see that you are very educated in this subject, and I definitely agree, you should not have to think about it to need to use pepper spray, the only reason you should use it is if you are in imminent harm.

yes. though i been the other end of the spectrum. but if i did ever get the guts to i might also possibly release most of the can in the moment and not really think. in panic
@danieltrickel1732 жыл бұрын
@@zivadiva Correct. However, my point is that there are two separate and distinct incidences portrayed in the video. In the first instance, the man does indeed cause the woman a good deal of unwanted grief. In that case, use of the can may or may not have been justified. However, it was not used and the incident passed. In the second instance, the woman was in NO immediate danger as the man did not even see her. She took out her can. She approached him. She initiated dialogue. She took the encounter to the next level. Rather than shake her head in disgust, repeat a few expletives to herself, and quietly walk away, she created the situation in which she found herself. The man, while wholly despicable, did not do anything in the second case aside from open his mouth. Last time I checked, use of offensive language was reason for one to pull out their checkbook, not elicit use of an aerosol propelled chemical weapon. The woman decided to become a vigilante. As history has taught us, vigilantism is not a legally sanctioned course of action and those who have pursued it were ready and willing to be imprisoned for their actions. In this case, the woman should be tried for and convicted of assault. I applaud her gumption. I cannot, however, give merit to her actions.

These stories are so important now more than ever since this is an ongoing issue, and while as men we can’t begin to imagine what women go through, we need to do our part to call out the injustices when we see them and have conversations about this type of stuff as tough as it can be sometimes.

I grew up knowing that you're always supposed to treat women with respect and it doesn't matter on what's on the outside but what's inside.
@zackiejama5592 Жыл бұрын
even when they disrespects you and treat you like an atm? even with their laundry list of demands for their 'perfect man'? even they'll take half your shit in a divorce after she cheated on you? would you still respect and love women then?

Thank you so much Luis for this video. Guys need to learn how to respect ladies more. A woman is not obligated to even tell you what time it is if she doesn't want to talk to you. So I pretty much think that these creeps got what was coming to them. They harrassed and disrespected her and so even though her revenge was a little extreme, I can't honestly say that those jerks didn't deserve it. Learn to take "no" for an answer either the easy way or the hard way.

Glad that the character "Tiffany" prevailed in the end against the cop. Taken to the extreme - is when we hear about stuff like the Cara Knott murder - a well known case here in San Diego (1986)

I used to be 1 of those dirtbags back in my early 20’s but now I’m 47 years old I’m no longer a dirtbag. It’s not worth it I am in relationship with someone and I hope and pray that things will work out in the future.

Well good for you. You are on the right path. I am sure you will find what you really need in life. Everyone can make a mistake, but if the person truely regrets it, and really wants to fix it, then every mistake is forgivable, even the most sinful mistake. 😊

As a woman this happens to me a lot even through social media 😒 and I'm only 27. I never show interest and I immediately block them. At least my male coworkers don't act like this and I can be able to work comfortably without much worry. We all just want to work and get stuff done by the end of the shift
