There are also two different types of Police in Brazil. There are the Federal Police, which is the most common type, with their subdivisions (The Federal Police, the Federal Highway Police, the Federal Railway Police, and the Federal Penal Police), and they are also called the Civil Police. Their job is mostly reactionary policing and investigations. The other Police are the Military Police, the preventative arm of the Police (ie raiding, show-of-force patrols, etc), and the ones seen in the video. The Military Police also have two extremely specialized units: BOPE (Special Police Operations Battalion) in the Rio de Janeiro federal state, kinda akin to SWAT but for an entire state, not just a city, and the FNSP, which is the security force that responds to terrorist or national security threats. Basically: don't be a bad guy in Brazil, because any of the branches of the Police will hunt you down and make sure you face justice for your bad deeds! (And I learned this watching a documentary called "At Point Blank" with subtitles!)

I had the same thing happen to me as the first video. Cruising down the interstate in NC one morning, passing everyone up. And for some weird reason I decided to look at one of the cars I was passing and it was 2 cops in an undercover car. Both were looking directly at me. I matched their speed and waved at them. Unlike Resist, I actually just stayed at their speed for a min and then backed off and let them get in front. They didn't pull me over.
