Unfortunately in some states it can cause fines, criminal charges and liens. I have seen where a refusal to enter with no warrant, didn't matter and all property rights went out the window. Prosecutors/DA/judges aren't going to help you. The moment they claim that your property needs to be condemned you will see how in 30 days you will have no utilities or will be arrested/ criminally charged for being on your own property. Also "Community Development" is a big new trend sweeping this Country's small/rural areas/counties where ordinances/zoning/restrictions are removing what you can do with your property. Meetings/voting are happening monthly in your town as we speak.

But someone in that area can go to the courthouse and go through the tax and property records to see what's been going on with property there in the last five or ten years. Something like this happened here in Utah. Cottonwood heights PD would spend all of their time harassing anyone who did buisness in a certain area that the police cheif wanted to buy in order to scare people away so they could buy the property. Okay. Bad example to give, my apologies. Three police officers were killed by the son of the woman that owned the house. There was apparently major miscommunication between the woman and call taker, that person and dispatch and dispatch and the police officers. The police were unaware he was armed. Point is, *they had the house condemned because he killed police.* They were supposed to have torn the house down. I've read of this happening repeatedly. Person kills cop, house is condemned and torn down. There was nothing wrong with the house other than three police officers died in the house and on the property.

I would love to know what happened that made the city decide to target this particular residence? Is it the residence that is the issue, or is it a resident/residents? Law enforcement where I live generally are reactive. Regardless of what codes and so on say, if there is not a complaint, LE doesn’t look for one. If there is a complaint, LE doesn’t really have a choice and they enforce the law. It seems to me that the two guys from code compliance know what they did wrong, so they both lied about the facts and lied by omission. So the question for the public would be, When we CHOSE to fund this agency, did we just leave it up to their own discretion on how to run the agency, or did we give specific details on how to run it. The questions I would have for this agency would be 1) Where did the report of a “squatter” originate? The idea that there is a squatter could originate from anyone, but “squatting” being a form of trespassing, would have to come from an authorized agent for the property. 2) Where in the “policy” does it require a property owner to require permission from the government to allow a second party to use their property? If the property is being used for what it is zoned for, then that should be the end of it. With regards to obtaining a license to lease the property, okay, but since it is not leased, then why would a license to do something that is not being done be required? I need a hunting license if I want to go hunting, but I don’t need a hunting license to go for a walk in the woods. Does that make sense?

Thanks so much for advocating for people in situations like this. Municipalities and counties violate property owners rights on a daily basis all over the state. For people that reside on property they own, they can file a declaration of homestead with their county recorder. This is a Florida Constitutional right - Article X sec. 4, with the instructions for filing in the Florida Statutes - Title XV chapter 222.01. It's simple, cheap and easy to understand homestead rights for Floridian home owners. This has nothing to do with the Florida homestead to reduce property taxes - that is a completely separate issue. Everyone that owns and resides on property in Florida should record this Homestead declaration. Read the Florida Constitution and how to file for it in the statutes (above) and see the protections - even from code enforcement. The police, and/or any other government agent that trespasses on private property without a warrant should be prosecuted.

Wow!!! Let me clear up something, Hospice DOES NOT mean you aren’t living there. My close friend is taking Hospice right now AT HOME. They are full of S***! Also Hospice doesn’t mean you will die. My mom was on and off of Hospice twice before she passed.
