I believe the secret to getting any and all charges dropped is to establish dominance. Bellow "this whole court is out of order!". This will show everyone your legal experience and they will end the hearing out of respect...

I actually did get out of jury service once... I moved out of my dad's house, he lives in Warwickshire and I moved to Leicestershire. A letter arrived at his, and despite it having "IMPORTANT DOCUMENT" written all over it, he forgot about it and didn't forward it to me. He finally gave it to me 3 months later and it was a jury letter. I sheepishly phoned the number at the bottom, terrified I was going to get into trouble but the man on the phone sternly but fairly told me not to worry, but to make sure my details were always updated every time I moved as I might not get away with it twice. Never had a summons since and I always wonder what the case was.

I’m of the opinion the courts are not in favour of the victim. A recent case I’ve dealt with was the 16th time this person had breached their non-molestation order. On arrest they head butted, spat in the mouth of while shouting they had HIV, bitten and punched one of the coppers. She went to court and was released with a fine. The Bobby now has to take anti STI medication and have regular check ups for 6 months to make sure they didn’t contract anything due to the suspect being a prostitute. The Bobby in my opinion got a worse punishment for enforcing the law than the shitbag did for breaking it. Bet if it was the judge who got spat at, they wouldn’t be walking free.
@damionlee7658
@damionlee7658 Жыл бұрын
The whole thing is angering, but I would love to ask the judge "Just how often does this person have to breach a court order before you will actually enforce it in a way that will make an impact?" I'm all for a bit of compassion in the law, but some times you just get the impression that there is a real piss take going on at the court level. It's very much like the people who successfully argue the "Exceptional hardship" (BS) excuse for driving offenses, and still have an active driving license with 12, 18, 30, or in the case of one specific motorist, 68 points!
@Sarge92

as a technicality courts should never be in favour of the victim just as your not guilty until proven so you are not a victim until you can prove so so a good court treats everyone as lying through there teeth until they can prove whos actually guilty or whos not guilty etc that being said your example is dealing with people who are provably guilty and are not getting punished appropriately that is bullshit in the highest regard and I to wonder how in Mr beans name they manage to get away so many times with this shit its not even like there isolated incidents you see it time after time shitbag goes to court gets let off is back a week later gets let off and it always finishes off with them having done something major and everyone just sits there dumbfounded wondering how a criminal who got released 14 times on assault and battery charges ended up beating someone to death oas if no one could have seen this coming

Ayyup Ben, I got asked 2years ago to do Jury service at Manchester Crown Court, I had the rights to turn it down and was accepted by them, as it seems they don't check for past records before sending a jury letter out, as I had to decline due to 2 previous 2 1/2yr suspended sentences, I think what helped me more out is just being upfront and honest the 2nd I got arrested, which I notice cops arnt use to straight up honesty, I've never denied anything I've done always been upfront, like when I got asked if I had a knife up my arse in interview, as I got searched 3 times nothing got found, until I had it in my hand in the cells that's when they found the joint I also had, it got thrown out of court straight away, due to the police failed 3 searches, as the magistrate pointed out for me to be searched 3 times and nothing to be found, meant I wasn't out to harm other than myself, which was true as I got arrested walking onto the motorway, as I couldn't handle my children being used as weapons of mass destruction, I will always say, the best cop to ever arrest me constantly over a 5yr period, was the best cop I know, retired PC Taylor so much respect for him even more so when he give me a slap thinking I was going to spit, but I was trying to call him a bald c*nt, I have so much respect for him as he took the time to know why I was the way I was, if it wasn't for him I would be in prison he helped me get out the toxic relationship I was in, he even refused to let me go home unless he could chat with my mum, as I was having deep suicidal tendencies, he was the last person to arrest me in 2013 not been arrested since, I know somewhere out there you would of touched a person's heart and mind just like he did with me, at my most darkest of times.

Dear Ben, firstly I would like to thank you for all of your videos, and the effort that you and your team put into them. Secondly, as someone who suffers from PTSD, I would like to thank you for talking so openly and honestly about this. I think you are rather fab, and brilliantly funny. I do have a question...Having watched several videos of the seemingly horrific interactions with some police in USA, I have observed that often there are several officers all shouting different instructions; this can obviously lead the suspect/victim to be confused. How is that managed over here in UK? Is there a specific protocol? Secondly, why do so many folk not know how to get arrested? STFU & argue about your civil rights with a lawyer at the station, right? I hope this finds you well. Godspeed to you and yours. Much respect & love from Leeds. Sarah x

Heh, I love your style. But just to add to your excellent *summary* (see what I did there) Offences can be Summary only (i.e. only triable in the Mags); Indictable only (i.e. can only be tried in the Crown Court) or 'either way'. With the latter both the magistrates and the Defendant have to agree to a Mags court trial. The mags can refuse jurisdiction. But even if they accept jurisdiction the defendant can 'elect' a crown court jury trial. As the conviction rate in the mags is >90% whereas the crown court conviction rate is around 70% (although this varies from court to court) it's understandable why people elect. Also, you're often better off being the least serious case in the crown court than the most serious case in the mags. As to oaths, you can take the oath in any way that is binding on your conscience. Bigger courts have just about everything needed for any religion. But if they don't have the appropriate materials then people will be asked to affirm. The best one I saw was "I swear by the gods my ancestors swore by!"

I had to do jury service in 2010 at Nottingham Crown Court of a two drug dealers from Warwickshire. A blind man could see they was guilty but they still pleaded not guilty. After 9 days they were found guilty and one got 9 and a half years and the other got 8. At the time I smoked and at lunch time i was sat on the court wall having a cigarette when the main accused sat next to me, talk about a awkward moment. I found out afterwards the cheeky twat appealed his sentence claiming he didn't get a fair trail which was thrown out and he has been sent to prison again for drug dealing

The most important thing about being summoned to court is to research any law you've been charged with and see if it fits what you've actually done. I've been to magistrates court several times for vehicle related (not driving) offences and each time was able to prove that I'd not broken the law. I could have paid a solicitor to do it but I'd rather light the money and use it to burn the hair on my arsehole off than pay their wages.
