Which is why it's not worth it to cross on red light. Most accidents on Queens Blvd are the pedestrian fault.

About half a dozen times over the last several years, I've seen people on their cell phones crossing,..only after honk at them do they notice the on coming traffic after walking against the light into the street. I've also seen people on their bikes, looking at their cell.

Just to note - on the other side, at 71st. there's a one unique crosswalk that you can cross at diagonals. WHY? the only intersection that does this, and everyone is confused. SO ALL THE CARS AND PEDS cross at the same time. just waiting for an accident. Who makes these decisions?

It looks funky but it gives people the opportunity to cross the Blvd or cross to one of the side streets. The key is to wait for the light and if you walk like a slow boat to China don't start crossing if your light is down to zero. You won't have enough time.

Wait until the summer hits 😮 Also, as a driver I’ve noticed pedestrians crossed the street when the light is green and they seem to not want to live really. They walk slow, they don’t look for incoming traffic and they’re always on their phone. Pedestrians should also get tickets. SMH.

Couple things. First, getting out of your car after cutting each other off and giving the bad finger for a few miles is really stupid. You could easily get blasted then run over. Guess he was expecting a fair fight which was also stupid. Second, can we hold some pedestrians accountable for some of these accidents? They are spaced out on phone like an idiot or listening to loud music on 300 dollar wireless junk. You can't cross Queens Blvd on red light unless you are very fast! The driver was stupid for fleeing. Must have had warrants or suspended license.

The one on Queens Blvd was the pedestrian fault for crossing on red and not paying attention. Running after the pedestrian error was stupid. It was her fault.

Accidents happen but you know Queens Blvd is a speedway so how do you not pay attention enough to see a car coming at 40 mph? If in doubt stay at the island until the light changes.
