Awww, that wooden plaque that you found had such a sweet message: "We owe it to ourselves to create a happy marriage; It's about never being too old to hold hands; It's saying I love you, at least once a day; It's about never going to bed angry; It's about facing the world together.." I really appreciate that you are honest in saying that a house's history is unknown to you. It's a much more transparent explore that way, in my opinion. 💗

Hi Dave, what a beautiful old french mansion it's a shame no one came back for the beautiful furniture or belongings. That one kitchen where nature was taking over was so interesting I would have liked to have seen that in person. It did look like someone had lived in that second floor all the way in the back and that was sweet of you to up right that piece of furniture and pick that toy up and put it on the the chair. Thank you for another great video and taking us along on all your adventures. Take care.

Thank you. I saw a mixture of beautiful antique furniture and shabby modern cheap furniture, also. I suspect that one of the grandchildren of the original owner inherited this home and lived in it. Not enough money came with the house to keep it up and after the 1970s' economic upheaval it became harder and harder to make a go here.

I think there was a children's playroom in the attic.. those iron beds looked like children's cots, probably for book reading.. quite the house, she even had an outdoor kitchen space, which is nice so you don't heat up the whole house on hot summer days.. we had summer kitchens here and what they called summer sleeping porches elevated porches off an upstairs window, screened in, with beds.. got you out of the hot house in summer nights and into the fresh breezes.

Sadly, there are many houses like this in France because you cannot disinherit your children - all it takes is one child to refuse to sign the papers and nothing happens at all! I live in France and worry about this as one of my daughters has estranged herself from the family, so my house could end up like this 😢
