i totally support the words of this police officer and faith lsk chairperson i totally love your work i even wish you become speaker of kenya in next government.... you have the wisdom sober reflectiveness needed for the job kudos so far however everyone must be balanced even you human rights activists.... if am a cop a protestor throws a stone at me and trust me some stones are thrown with so much force that i can pass out and the protestor can disarm me...explain what am meant to do??? situation 2 a gang protestors are running towards me and am cornered i fire two warning shots to the air and they still come what am i to you. i am protecting an area that is not accessible to civilians and the storm in and the civilians know storming the protected area will lead to death.... what am i to do infact explain why do i go for training and am given a gun and not a spoon..... currently human right activists are so one sided that they are making it a complete crime to shoot a bullet irrespective of the circumstances..... that will lead to anarchy. sometimes to enforce the law force must be used.... my suggestion.... before condemning the police force and acting primarily on only cases that are against the police i would wish that those that break the law should be punished it is wrong to invade parliament and all those that invaded parliament should be prosecuted... i have not heard law society seeking equity and justice on that matter... any police officer that killed a civilian and can prove that it was in self defense and had no other option should be promoted... any police officer that was trigger happy even though the bullet was shot in the air should be sacked and if killed someone be given the death sentence.... the law should be fair and equal to everyone as the law society and human rights its everyone the soldier says that he was first kenyan then a soldier so protect his rights as well as a Kenyan then second as a soldier and police offer NOW to the Police and soldier .. ordinarily its assumed you are willing to sacrifice your life to protect the lives of your loved ones and then every kenyan as one of the main motivations of joining the disciplined forces (note word disciplined) next you take an oath to defend first the constitution which in turn protects the general kenyan public especially the defenseless..... then the president the borders etc depending on the job description... therefore i do suggest that if a superior gives and order that doesnt abide with the constiution and will cause harm especially to the defenseless and especially if that command is being used to defend a criminal (one who has broken the law be it the president or your superior) you have every right not to obey that comand and be taken through a legal trial as civilians we are fighting oppression i guess its time to fight the same in disciplined services without causing a mutiny... it is possible and the law society of kenya should think of a military section to cover martial law and a police section to cover policing (forests, wildlife kando askari) so as to give guidance direction and education of the application of the law under such circumstances.... what is there right now is abuse of office.... because you are the president you can't make the police or army your own bodyguard team that allows you to break the law..... and dear police or army man.... when war breaks out.... the president and the political class fly out their familiies and as you guard them your mother and families are being slaughtered by some raia (useless untrained mobs) who is fooling who... now am not calling for mutiny.... understand me but for the application of the law..... the enemy is not the ordinary kenyan the protestor the president the IMF or even foriegner (right now there are sudanese and iranians , somalis and afghans in kenya as we speak despite their territories hosting terrorists) the enemy is he that breaks the law and the action against him is been spoken to, warning, restraint and where all else fails death be he the president, the protestor the foreigner etc and any law that goes against basic human rights and negatively affects the right of another is an unjust war....... dear soldier if you abide by this Kenya will not end up like sudan or somalia because already protestors where giving water to police officers until 1 police started shooting tear gas because of an illegal comand and 2 protestors started throwing stones and invaded parliament.... i repeat if you invaded parliament i celebrate you because you are a hero but you broke the law.... same to any disciplined force if you are given a command to protect any crime or criminal you will be a hero Kenya is bigger than all of us and we all love peace..... however i dont expect the law society or human rights groups to be used to get you not face your punishment..... if you are a soldier refuse and by court martialed you are a hero if you are a civilian invade statehouse and definitely be killed or be prosecuted for invading parliament you are still a hero to the LSK and Human rights groups do not use the law to allow people get away with crime... you cannot say that a politician who steals should be jailed but someone that invades a restricted area should go free that is anarchy and an unfair, unjust and non equitable application of the law let the law apply to everyone based starting on the principles of law that are based on the inborn morality of whats right and wrong then we move on from there.... Kenya then will never be a sudan or somalia... finally lets pray for the nation GOD at the end of it will guide us into wisdom and peace

Those were goons who caused chaos in our country, demonstration were peaceful until police started protecting goons and focused on innocent protesters just with bottle of water and a phone.... Police officer stop seeking sympathy and start dealing with goons who are interfering with peaceful demonstration....my own brother is a soldier and very disciplined...so their is a big difference between a police officer and a soldier in terms of discipline.

There is difference between protest and riots. Kenya Police don't know how to differentiate that's why the escalated things at peaceful demo and then it turned violent.
