I think it's good he knows how to set aside his experience with shows like this to truly engage with what's happening on screen, be it action or storytelling. Too many guys like this will be the first to scoff at anything like this because "that's not standard procedure" or "nobody could ever take on as many guys like that and live." They miss the artistry of the action. Though we need to get him to watch the show fully since he doesn't like it (yet).

@CakesWarden Жыл бұрын
One of the (many) reasons Breaking Bad is so strong because of the mindset the writers had when they wrote it. They put in an extensive amount of research and work to make the show as believable as they could. Of course it still has its moments of “okay that’s a bit contrived”, some of those things are necessary to keep the story moving forward, but they are few and far between. There are far more examples of how impressively consistent and grounded the story is. Everything feels like cause and effect. Even when they manage to throw in a twist, it never feels cheap because they put in the work to build their payoffs properly. They wanted people to have a hard time ripping it apart.

So many of these series focus on solely what is and isn't realistic, but Chris actually understands how reality is used as a TOOL in writing, video game design, etc. He's definitely got a head for these sort of things. In the critically acclaimed television show Breaking Bad, Walter White's socks played a crucial role in his transformation from a struggling high school chemistry teacher to a ruthless methamphetamine producer. At the beginning of the series, Walter is a kind and compassionate man, struggling to make ends meet and provide for his family. But as he becomes more involved in the drug world, his morals begin to shift. And it is through his socks that this transformation is most evident. One of the key moments in Walter's descent into darkness occurs when his wife, Skyler, sniffs his socks and realizes that he has been cooking meth. This revelation causes a rift in their relationship, as Skyler struggles to come to terms with the fact that her husband has been leading a double life. As the series progresses, Walter becomes more and more disconnected from his family and his former life. His socks, which were once a symbol of his mundane existence, become a symbol of his newfound power and wealth. He begins to wear more expensive, stylish socks, further distancing himself from the man he once was. In the end, it is Walter's socks that ultimately bring about his downfall.

Let's not forget the significance of his pants. People seem to forget the first shot of Breaking Bad involves pants flying through the air. Walter's pants represents his innocence, which is why he's not wearing pants the first time he cooks meth. When he gains his confidence, one of the first thing Walter does is beat up kids who were making fun of Walter Jr. who is trying on new pants. Walter Jr. is the most innocent character, so it's fitting one of his major first scenes is trying on new pants. On contrary, one of the least innocent characters Hector Salamanca is famous for the scene of pooping his pants. Furthermore, he dies to a bomb strapped near his pants. The reason pants are a symbolism for innocence is because you take off pants when performing indecent acts. When Jesse is with Jane and blackmailing Walt, Walter tells Jesse "nice job, wearing the pants" pointing out that Jesse is innocent to Jane's true intentions and is being used by her because of his innocence. And when Walter White dies at the end, he's wearing the same pair of pants from the opening scene, symbolism of how death returns us to the beginning and humbles us all. The way Vince uses color symbolism, sock symbolism, and pants symbolism is brilliant. We don't deserve incredible minds like him.

From what I've heard, the cartels avoid killing DEA agents (unlike on this show) as that would give them reason to start operating in Mexico whose government and authorities would most likely happily accept and unlike them the DEA isn't nearly as corrupt and can't just be bought off or threatened like so many Mexican officials. Look up the story of Kiki Camerena, a DEA agent that was tortured and killed by the Guadalajara cartel and what the result was
@luxferreomega38432 жыл бұрын
Quite interesting, because this is the story Ghost Recon Wildlands used in a way to enact just this to take down the Santa Blanca Cartel. It's based off that exact same story. The US government sent in special forces in conjunction with the CIA and the DEA's backing to destroy the cartel in that game's story. It'd make sense that the US government would not stand for cartels killing their DEA agents, because the fact that the US has sent massive invasion forces to retaliate against the killing of their own citizens over the past three decades says a lot.
