@LawrenceTimme6 жыл бұрын
@@Dragoneer you don't overtake 1 slow car and there are no traffic jams in Germany because the roads are well designed. Its not shit like merica land where you have to stop at every junction because of a stupid light creating massive jams.
@LawrenceTimme6 жыл бұрын
@@ss-nz5sr what traffic jam? There aren't any on the autobahn lol.
@Dragoneer6 жыл бұрын
Lawrence Timme ...what? I’m sure there are traffic jams and traffic lights in Germany, just like any well developed country with publicly accessible roads lol. Not sure how less traffic lights (which are there to prevent accidents and make traffic flow more efficient) will equate to a better designed system, but whatever you say, German engineering yadayada... There will always be other road users that you have to share the road with, obviously. Traffic jams will be inevitable sometimes, so congestion will always be a factor no matter how well you think your roads are designed. Minor roads will intersect into major roads and vice versa, or they’ll cross paths with one another - you need a system which tells which side of traffic should go. You shouldn’t think of traffic lights as something to waste your time, they’re there to make your journey safer. You may think that America has a worse designed system because there is more frequent traffic jams, when in fact most parts of America are actually more built up than Germany, and way more people will be sharing the road, thus more intersections of roads which leads to more traffic lights being needed to aid drivers. Traffic jams does not necessarily mean it’s a poorly designed system, that’s a factor based on the frequency of road users at one time. In fact, without a system of traffic lights, more accidents would occur because there’s nothing to tell either side when to go on, which I thought was pretty obvious. So this just makes your point invalid. It’s not stupid, it’s much more efficient and safer without them. So that’s basically what this statement means is, you might think overtaking one slow car will get you places faster, but in rush hour for example, you’ll always meet more congestion which’ll slow you down, so the car you overtook five minutes ago just catches up with you again anyways and you look like a bellend wasting fuel for nothing. Now, what exactly are you trying to say with your comment, that there is absolutely no congestion in Germany at any given time..? Seriously dude? 🤨

The sensation of driving at 300kph is not unlike flying. The feeling of actually 'driving' becomes more and more abstract the faster you go. The controls get lighter and lighter, your imputs smaller and smaller, and there is a feeling that you are less and less involved in the whole thing. Obviously the extent of this depends on the car you're driving and the road you're driving on, but it's a weird experience thst is quite frightening when you really consider the margins for error becomes more and more minute with every increment of speed.

@BerndvonBackstein6 жыл бұрын

@Needalex6 жыл бұрын
@@ugg8147 Lol, you should try to research more about miles and meters, it might surprise you who is the most logic, and why every scientist use meters :p
@Dragoneer6 жыл бұрын
It doesn’t take a scientist to understand a base 10 system (i.e. a decimal system) is a lot easier to work with than a hexadecimal or octal system. It is also much more globally compatible with the majority of countries that have adopted it. Alas, I am an engineer from the UK, but I use MPH and miles in day to day life instead of kilometers and KPH...because that’s just what I’ve grown up with, and it is a lot easier to explain to local people with a system that is more well known...although if I were to devise a solution to a problem through mathematical means, I would use SI units like meters and seconds, because they are much easier to work with in a system where every unit has the same base and is transferable... My point is, there should not be a debate with this - each system has its pros and cons. Use the one you feel most comfortable using, as there will be a constant to convert between the two anyways. Just make it known what system you are using, or else you’ll end up with the “NASA” incident that cost millions of dollars back then... In my opinion the metric system is best when working things out mathematically, where percentages actually make sense, whereas the imperial system is best when conceptualizing the value of something in your head...
