They used the general public as a roadblock instead of letting them pass they stopped the traffic and made them wait next to stop sticks and a cruiser going a 100+ mph, that semi driver has a lawsuit I would think, the police forced him to stop and wait directly in the path of a pursuit with stop sticks which will obviously lead to car losing control, no reason to not let them pass the stop sticks can be pulled into position at anytime and are usually kept off the road until last sec to avoid car from swerving around them, instead created a roadblock with everyday citizens because the police were too busy figuring out who got jurisdiction and the paperwork🤦♂️

Here’s his autopsy: According to the autopsy report, the cause of death for Sanchez was determined to be the result of injuries sustained in the severe collision. The impact of the crash, coupled with the subsequent fire that engulfed the vehicle, proved fatal. The report indicated that Sanchez suffered extensive trauma, including severe burns, internal injuries, and multiple fractures. The autopsy further revealed that Sanchez’s injuries were consistent with the dynamics of a high-speed collision and subsequent fire. The severity of the impact, combined with the subsequent blaze, contributed to the loss of life. Additionally, the report documented the presence of smoke inhalation, indicating that Sanchez was exposed to toxic fumes during the fire. This likely further exacerbated his injuries and ultimately contributed to his demise.

During my career in law enforcement (27 years, now retired), the window in the partition that separates the front from the back ALWAYS concerned me. I would get in a patrol car at the beginning of my shift from a fellow officer, and I made it a priority to close that window 1st thing. Why some officers keep that window open? I have no idea. The only time I would open the window during a custody is when I'm setting in the car with them. I get out....that window get's closed. Any rookie officers out there reading this...take note. This video right here is why you keep that damn window closed because you never now when another officer will put a suspect in the back of your car, and just because they're in handcuffs doesn't mean sh*t. Close that fricken window! You're welcome!

I was worn out when I was an Irish police sergeant telling officers to never ever leave the keys in your patrol car ignition when they left their vehicle at incidents. It seems incredible that they would do this knowing there was a rifle in their vehicle. (We don't carry guns in Ireland.) Then one night when I was on duty at the local airport for some presidential visit I heard over the radio that some guy stopped for drunk driving had just stolen our patrol car. He crashed it too after a chase. About two hours later I see our patrol car on top of a recovery vehicle wrecked pass the airport road. Thankfully nobody was injured. I would consider this incident as having a really fucked up day. Really careless to set up the spike strips with other occupied vehicles stopped at the side of the road in the path of the fleeing vehicle. Luckily he hit the truck but that was just random luck.

Honestly it makes me wonder how fast the average agency would be able to do a similar tactic. I assume they would just have to switch radio channels, at most places. Because disabling a specific radio from the DMR system is difficult and the people who can do it likely aren't always on shift.
@MNRick041 Жыл бұрын
@galacticboy2009 A suspect with any knowledge of police radio systems would be able to switch channels also, the radios are easy to operate. I'm in MN and I know during the riot a few years ago there was Officers that lost radios and they were able to shut them down quickly. In another instance a tribal officer got his truck stolen and the suspect was on the radio cursing at them, they shut that down right away. It happens and I've never heard the dispatchers say that they can't do it.

@@mbnqpl I’ve seen this twice before and both times the civilian truck driver was not reimbursed by anyone. The one poor driver was financially ruined because he couldn’t work afterward due to the damage to his truck. The police have qualified immunity, so they can’t be sued. If the truck driver doesn’t like that, he can sue but that costs a lot of money and insurance companies (like the government) have an endless supply of lawyers and money to pay them. Several serious mistakes were made here. First off, of course, moving the detainee under arrest to a vehicle without a divider in a car with keys still in the ignition was extremely foolish. This person said several times that they didn't even know what was going on, and appeared to be our of their mind, possibly on drugs or having a psychotic episode or both, and should have been very closely monitored in a secure vehicle. Secondly, deploying stop sticks while both sides of the street are open and there are no bystanders makes sense but the second that cars were stopped on both sides of the road then the street should have been blocked rather than deploying stop sticks which essentially turned the car into a ping pong missile in the middle of two rows of parked cars full of civilians. The police put more peoples lives at risk by this act than the escapee would have by just being stopped by a barricade. Thirdly, after the vehicle impact with the tractor trailer a EMT professional should have instructed officers to, or personally worked to, remove the driver. By yanking him out of the car like heaving bully adrenaline junkies you greatly multiply the drivers chance of bleeding out and dying from his injuries. The driver wasn't going anywhere and was probably severely injured enough to require immediate medical attention and should not have been moved without an EMT unit there handling the whole procedure. I understand that most people are ready to act like this is some sort of divine justice or that the person was 'getting what they deserved' but I would rather believe in actual truth and real justice which involves mental health evaluations, drug counseling, and court systems.
@Kat.CVT19832 ай бұрын
I think the reason they decided to pull him out was that the car was on fire. Otherwise they would have waited to extricate him. They had to make a judgment call on the likelihood of him surviving if they didn't remove him with the vehicle fire vs worsening his injuries by moving him. It's a decision that they wouldn't have had to make had they not deployed the sticks where they did, but thank goodness he hit that trailer and not another vehicle or they probably would have had multiple fatalities on their hands. Like you said, many mistakes were made. A real clusterfuck for sure.

There's been worse...cops left a woman in a cop car parked on a railroad track and the train actually came and hit it (that's somewhere on KZbin)

That part is normal because otherwise you get sued for not having the AC or heat running. Leaving the middle open for a 95 pound adult male to skinny through, well that’s a problem 😂

@@rildain76 The cause of death IS the impact. He didn't survive it. Dying slowly isn't the same thing as surviving.

@@McCracken216 I’m not contesting that he died from injuries sustained in the crash. But he was alive after the crash and continued being alive long enough to get to a hospital where he later succumbed to those injuries. Oxford defines survive as: continue to live or exist, especially in spite of danger or hardship. He continued to live, albeit for a brief time. That, I believe, is what the OP meant. That’s all I was saying.

13:14 - Spikes done wrong 14:05 - Spikes done wrong 15:24 - Finally, an officer who knows you need to place them as far to the opposite side as possible and pull them across as necessary. It's still a challenge to land them, but at least you've got a fighting chance with full-road coverage.

Bruh he had to stop oncoming traffic and put every single other vehicle in danger to engage those spikes, very lucky he hit the trailer of a trucker and not a van full of children. Those spikes were not effective in the slightest, it murdered the suspect and put everyone else on the road in danger.

@@Barricade706 I think Black Lives Matter is a racist terrorist hate movement, and am pro law and order, but I agree, the spikes in this scenario made it worse for civilians, not because Jose the criminal died in the crash, I got no pity there.

Yes his rectum and left leg were severed by some metal under the steering column and the blunt force broke both arms, shattered up to the wrists, because of the hand cuffs, he could'nt grasp the steering wheel with full strength. Emergency room Dr. said it was one of the most painful deaths. He actually died of shock.

@@Suspended777DusK My mom. She heard it from my Auntie, who's nieghbors with an RN. The RN knows the Emergency RN at that hospital. RN stands for Registered Nurse. An RN's job is to do whatever the Doctor says. She has too. Or she loses her job. Thats why Doctors prefer young attractive nurses. Butt, not always. Some RN's are not attractive. And some are transgender. It's the Doctors preferance. Thanks for asking. Any more questions , I'd be happy to help. Byeeee.

What the suspect wanted: - Suicide via head-on collision - Quick, painless death - Take innocent lives along with him What he actually got: - The absolute worst car crash you could get into without losing consciousness - Slow, painful death - Just a mildly disturbed truck driver
