A no harm way to add two zippers to a Polish Army Lavvu Shelter. Cooper and I look forward to a first overnight and many adventures beyond with the Polish Lavvu.
An update: KZbin channel Video Palace tried this and did an excellent video presentation of this method of adding the buttons and zippers on to his Polish Lavvu. Very well done! Here is a link to his video • ポーランド軍テントの一番簡単なファスナー加工... - thank you for sharing yours!
Info. about the zippers; These are 60 Inch Separating Large Plastic Zippers Black Tape with Double Pull Tab Slider Heavy Duty Zippers

What a clever idea! For those that haven't watched it yet jump in at 2:36 and you can leave at 8:27 unless you want to jealously watch a man brew hot chocolate (I'm typing this at the end of November). I could never camp that close to a babbling brook - I'd be up and down all night needing to pee! Cute dog though.

Glad to see you both out and enjoying the outdoors. I am also looking forward to your overnighter as long as it’s good enough for the extremely cold weather lately. If you wanted an area to be able to sit outside of your tent and not get wet you could get a larger or longer tarp. I’m sure you thought of that though. That also means more weight, so that would possibly be a drawback. Thanks for sharing. See you on the next one. I love Cooper so much.

We were two days too early with the hot cocoa, or maybe our cocoa brought the snow, or you had snow with your hot cocoa. Cooper's backyard was full of this area's first snow this morning and he loved it! The snow and more cocoa was kinda magical today. The simple things in life, enjoy them all.

Hi Mark! Yes - the lavvu would be challenged in our neck of the woods. I'm looking forward to taking this out late spring early summer. I finally decided to grab one now - a medium. The large have been sold out for a while now at Military Mart (UK). Some buyers (off Ebay) are getting mis-matched pairs (large matched with medium, small with medium, etc). Always appreciate you stopping by.

I noticed you own a Akto, I just recently purchased one W/ the footprint & I'm getting into backcountry hunting by backpacking for 4-7 day trips. Last night we had some really good snow fall over here in Tacoma so I set it up to give it a test run & I thought it was a tight fit... Amazing tent , great quality materials and engineering But I just can't afford to get the black label like I want so in your opinion would you keep the akto or get the new Nemo Tenshi 2p. I get 20% off on it if I want and I can still return my tent for full refund.
@wawhiker
@wawhiker 5 жыл бұрын
Hey Frank - snow here in Snohomish too. I went the same route as you. I did keep the Akto but a one person just does not have the room for all the winter/snow gear one needs. I picked-up an ALPS Mountaineering Tasmanian 2 Person 4 season. Great reviews, great price - I like it. My Akto will be used for late winter early spring I'm thinking. I'll keep just because its a Hilleberg. If you need the space go for a 2 person for sure. Hope this helps, good luck with your decision, and enjoy it out there!
@Frank-mc7fj
@Frank-mc7fj 5 жыл бұрын
@@wawhiker Appreciate the feedback, I'm looking at the Kuiu storm star As a replacement for this next season but like you said I'm going to keep it just because it's a Hilleberg.. If I had somebody to come with me to travel with me then I would lean towards the kuiu summit refuge 3p 4 season It's kind of like A tipi Style and it lets you use a wood stove that is the part where I would need A travel companion because someone needs to carry that even though I found a very light weight one you should look into Www.liteoutdoors.com Sells a wood stove that breaks down to the size of a one 2 liter pot & The pipe breaks down So small it can fit in most tents pole sacks, It would most definitely be able to fit in the sack that comes with the akto for its pole. But I currently use a mystery ranch 6500 and it weighs 9 pounds and sells for $900 after tax, But hopefully I can get $550 out of it that way I can purchase a Kuiu icon pro 7200 pack & And not only give myself the extra 2500 in³ of space with their Load sling option for carrying meat. My mystery ranch has a similar feature where you can stuff the meat bags in between the pack and frame. Do you do any hunting in Washington ? Is there any hunting to do in the cascade mountains?
