Don't wanna bash you but i use to detail cares years ago....Your holding it too loose and your moving it around too fast and also trying to do to big of an area at once. Let it do the work but hold it so it doesn't wobble, push lighting, move at about half the speed and do smaller sections followed by 3 or 4 passes then go on to the next area of car. Hope this helps. GOD bless.

Compound and Polish are abrasive. You need to claybar your car to remove any impurities. Then follow with the compound. You can apply polish to restore the shine. Then to protect the coat, you apply wax. All of these are different steps in detailing.

@@khangbanger Don't over-think this stuff. Most of this car detailing stuff is just bullsh*t and marketing hype. Rub the clay bar / clay mitt over the car panels as you are washing the car with the coin operated jet wash or whatever brand of car wash detergent you use. Dry off the panels and remove any excess water with a clean Chamois. Give the car panels a bit of time to air dry before a wipe down with a clean piece of microfibre cloth. My late father had a smash repairs. If I remember correctly, he was not overly technical about buffing cars.. The first major point was to make sure the panels were clean and free of potential abrasive / dirt..The second was a 2 pad system.... one to apply the polish / compound... The third step was a precautionary wipe down with a piece of clean cloth to remove any excess residue or airborne abrasive that may have just settled on the car...The fourth was final buffing with a clean sheepskin pad. Realistically, it is nice to have a clean and polished car.. but unless you are putting in a dust free canopy or doing it competitively for show.... that car is going to get a fresh lot of dirt, dust, and pollution on it the next time you drive it. No point getting too carried away.

The regular Zymol "polish" also has wax in it, that seems to protect pretty well on its own. KInd of like the meguiars 3 in 1. I think their polish also has some wax/sealer, but it is better to follow up with the wax.

I made this same mistake with my car and hurt the paint quite a bit. Rubbing compound and Polish are abrasives that remove scratches and imperfections in the clearcoat. You have to follow up with a sealing wax to have it be protected and continue to look good!

This buffer is really only for waxing or buffing. A DA (Dual Action) is a higher end tool for doing fine detailing and even some paint correction and wax as well. So yes the dual action will be better because it also does not leave swirl marks. but also easily twice the price.

I’ve always waxed my glass. It works beautifully. Never harmed any of glass treatments or coatings. I would say to make sure and use a petroleum free wax, but I even did that for years and never saw a negative effect. In fact, I’d say waxing your glass is one of the best ways to treat it. I went months without using my windshield wipers. The water hits the glass and glides right off.

You can wax the glass, it's not nessiscary but it's good for water beading. Helps you see better driving in the rain. Wax lasts longer than rainx sprah in my experience. You just have to try to avoid getting wax on the plastic/rubber trim around the glass.

I have this same machine, but I must be doing something wrong because I’m not getting good results. I’m wondering if it has something to do with me wet sanding or whether or not the machine is powerful enough to actually buff. I had mines for over a year now. I’ve used cutting compounds and I noticed that my panels or hood always look a little foggy after trying to buff them. And if I do get them to look any decent, once I come back to the panels after about an hour or two it starts to look dull again; kinda like when you spray water on it and it looks clear, but when it dries it goes back to the dull look. I would use 1000 grit wet sanding and then go to 2000 grit. After that I go to compounding. I’m lost..

You're absolutely correct that this kind of procedure can do damage by removing a clear coat. I learned this the hard way. I used a compound and polish to bring a bit more luster to the paint on my car. In the process, I ended up destroying the clear coat on the hood of my Lexus SC430. It was $1100.00 to have the hood and a quarter panel re-sprayed. What I saw in the video is exactly what I did. If you do use these kinds of products, as you said, you shouldn't use them often.
@mrgoodbar216

This machine doesn’t have enough rpms to warm up the clear coat enough to remove it. Even the most abrasive compound wont do damage with this machine unless you hold it in the same spot for a really long time. This machine works just good enough to remove very tiny surface scratches in the clear coat. Its really for beginners very hard to mess anything up
