To me an enhancement is taking the car to a level of gloss that’s just higher than what a good spray polymer/ceramic sealant can do. Something to do once every 6 months to add a bit more depth, and remove love marks. Basically the modern equivalent of a hand applied cleaner wax. A one-step to me is trying to remove medium/deep defects as effectively as possible without needing a second step. Basically a swirl removal. One is for gloss while the other is to prepare for gloss.

A few years ago during a webinar Mr. Stoops expressed how much he loves using a yellow Rupes pad and M210. This combination does work very well. I have also used M3 by Koch, Fab Finish, Uno Pure, and a few more. All worked very well for me. Brian’s compounding and polish videos never get old! Thank you for another fun video to watch.

Depending on the scenario it changes but on the average daily driven vehicle i normally use Soft paint - white gloss reflection artist pad. XXACT- perfect polish Medium paint - yellow polish reflection artist pad - XXACT - 2 in 1 Hard paint - urofiber black/white pad gringots cutting creme. The xxact series is a canadian product would be interesting to see you try it and see how it stacks up against your other favourites. I also like the extra cut compound from them, cuts quite well and finishes out to a very fine haze. 3m rubbing compound is so far the most efficient cutting ive seen but it usually makes quite the mess lol, it will produce a pretty heavy haze and doesn't break down much so be prepared for a lot of finishing work on softer paints but boy does it level paint.

If you should spend no longer than 1.5 hours on a paint enhancement on a mid sized sedan how long should you typically spend on a one step for a similar vehicle? I just started detailing professionally about three months ago and feel like I’m spending far too much time on my one steps.
@brentthedetailman22282 жыл бұрын

@Tranquility_Auto_Detailing2 жыл бұрын
@@brentthedetailman2228 So far it’s been roughly 5 hours per vehicle. I was just wondering if I’m trying to achieve more than is possible with a one step and working myself to death trying to do the impossible. I’m sure with time I’ll get more efficient and cut that time down by about 20%.
@alexisamtosta2 жыл бұрын
Im the same but you might be doing what I do, that is, with a one step, trying to get it as perfect as possible, so you end up doing several passes on the same place. The aim is perfection and customer satiafaction. Also our reputation is in game, so we do our very best hoping the customer will be happy and wont trash talk us. But it is all a learning process. That is why it is important to explain thinga very well explained to customers and be sure they understood what you explained to them.
@dustin37002 жыл бұрын
The solution is to do a test spot for the customer so they know what to expect so it doesn't leave a unknown in your mind so you don't end up screwing yourself. Think of it as helping the customer by doing less because it leaves more clearcoat for a later date. Literally doing an enhanced on a 63 merc with original single stage.

Thanks Brian for showing us how these products perform. I was curious how you would rate Menzerna SF-3800 as a finishing polish or paint enhancement.
@declanflaherty89582 жыл бұрын
The thing about these polishes which you did not mention is that you can’t put a ceramic coating over for eg Bilt Hamber as it is filler and leaves behind a resin or glaze which makes it impossible for ceramic to bind and limits the use of a polish. If it’s has fillers, then it’s not appropriate as a shop offering since you reduce your top coating offering to certain wax, sealants so a 1 step is more effective and more profitable
@zero10002 жыл бұрын
The others don’t have fillers, protection, polymers, etc. AIO is what you’re referring too which these aren’t.

Some do...some do not. Nothing wrong with a good polymer sealant. I prefer them on single stage.

@@zero1000 no I am not referring to an AIO. That would be a 1 step product which these polishes are not. The point of the matter is more that you can’t coat over these or most polishes if they have fillers. The chemistry won’t work

@@declanflaherty8958 I think you misread my comment. I said the other polishes meaning reflect, m3, and Perfect polish don’t have fillers. If you’re not doing a panel wipe after a polish of course you can’t coat over it unless it’s a primer polish.

Enhancement is a simple gloss boost. Quick whiz over with a finishing polish/AIO. A single stage is usually with a medium cut polish with diminishing abrasives. Starts with good cut, as you work it they break down & it ends up cutting less, both cutting & finishing the paint but you are still using it as a correction compound. An enhancement you aren't. Update: Watched the full video now, as you didn't mention it, it's worth pointing out Bilt Hamber Cleanser Polish has very little abrasives within it & the majority of the improvement you see come from it's filling capability which is excellent but temporary, a few months at best. The other 3 are finishing polishes as far as I am aware & actually leave a true finish behind which imo makes them more impressive in this test. That said you aren't wiping them down with a panel wipe afterwards so the oils etc within them will also be impacting the final results so a little flawed. Personally I do love cleanser polish for quick turnarounds on cars. I intend to grab some AW perfect polish in future as I've been very impressed with all the other AW compounds.
