Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell discusses how the proposition of a rate cut will impact the upcoming federal election.
Inflation data will be released on Wednesday, which could signal whether Australians can expect a February rate cut.
“They [Labor government] think it’s a 50-50 proposition … whether there is a rate cut next month,” Mr Clennell told Sky News Australia.
“We’ll know more when we see that inflation figure tomorrow which is expected to show inflation within the target band.
“It’s become a political football even ahead of this inflation figure.”
