Another banger - the class war is something I wish I'd see brought up more & more, since I feel this affects way more than just americans. Like I'm from eastern EU, and while the racial issues aren't much of a thing here as in the US or UK, class war is universal.

Thanks brother! That is a great way to frame the conflict - it is universal. Extreme political polarization is really just the outward manifestation of a deep class divide.

Really interesting video. Can you make one about the situation in Europe?

Oh thank you; I will do a video on the various crises afflicting the West, although I think the political trends are broadly similar in Europe and America (polarization, Balkanization, anarcho-tyranny, etc).

Do you think the culture war is real BPA?

Whilst a lot of it surely is political theatre, I do think the underlying impulses are real. From an evolutionary perspective, social affiliation is our basic survival strategy. But within any group, there is a tension between individualists (who want the freedom to collaborate with outsiders) and collectivists (who are more ethnocentric). That, in essence, is the antagonism between left and right.

@@blackpillacademy a bit out of context, but dude, the amount of times I have listened to that memento mori video you made is crazy. It helps me keep me grounded and to appreciate what I have, for one day I would die to be in the same spot i am now. much love brotha

By temperament, I’m kind of a liberal, but philosophically, I’m closer to the dissident right. I used to be a libertarian, although I no longer think big government per se is the problem; but rather, the fact that the managerial state has been weaponized against its citizens.

Always glad to see an upload from you. I've noticed in my personal life that people are getting way more polarized. Family members that I once considered rational and level-headed seemed to completely buy into whatever the tv told them. It's disheartening especially when they display some level of aggression towards me for being of a different political, religious, etc opinion. I've found that even when you are willing to try to hear people out, that they rarely return the favor. A lot of people just seem completely broken mentally and emotionally nowadays and I think it's only going to get worse.

Thanks man - I am always glad to hear your thoughts as well. As usual, you have cut to the core of the issue: people are psychologically broken by modern society, and, as a result, are unable to think logically when it comes to certain hot button topics.

@@blackpillacademy In addition to the increased emotional responses from people, I've also noticed that more and more people are almost obsessed with the idea of "the exception." So many people are incapable of speaking about, and understanding, averages, trends, etc. Any time I've brought up a generality (not even something that could be considered offensive either), I'm always met with some outlier which is supposed to be enough proof to refute whatever I had claimed. It's so strange and I'm not sure why people think this way. I guess more and more people, in an attempt to not "judge" others, they want to forgo any sort of pattern recognition.

@@someguy403 That is another great observation. Once again, I think you’re right: the social pressure to think in a politically correct way about certain issues has distorted people’s ability to reason from first principles more generally.
