He said his kingdom is not *from* this world. Jesus says his kingdom is for this world, again and again. This is precisely what he asks us to pray for in the Our Father prayer he taught us.

It reminds me of what Augustine said so many years ago: “Those, accordingly, who, finding fault with what they do not understand, call the typical institutions of the law disfigurements and excrescences, are like men displeased with things of which they do not know the use.
