There have been 15 confirmed Beryl-related deaths in Texas. Energy providers are working to get the lights back on. There are now around 700 thousand people without power. However, the debate is why everything is taking so long.

When a cat 1 hits a heavily populated city that has lots of trees, trees will fall and bring down power lines. it's so wide spread. Don't care how many trees are cut away from lines, they are still tall trees with shallow root systems and there's many of them.

This is crazy. I don’t know who did or didn’t call who. If you call somebody and they don’t call you back you call them again and again and again. You find somebody to sit on the phone calling and keep up with the times - on both ends of the phone. This is not rocket science. After all the Governors ofc has multiple task to complete every day - not just a hurricane- the judges have one task - get help from hurricane damage. Abbott being in Asia Has brought a metal company to Temple Texas and will be operational in 2 years.

Hurricane Ike was a strong Cat 2, nearly a Cat 3 that hit Houston in 2008 but I don't remember it being this bad with power. But then again, there's been so many more people in Houston in those 16 years, more infrastructure built, and a tree that may not have fell over in 2008 is not old and rotted and could tip over in 2024.
