The only thing record breaking is the number they/re hiring at once. 20,000 to replace the 21,000 they got rid of. Along with them, decades worth of institutional experience. They did the same with the military when they came to power and cut 60,000 from the Navy and a bunch form the Army, mostly officers who would be coming up for retirement. So they basically shafted them by not letting them get their full pension after a literal lifetime of service to their country. Not to mention they scrapped the Harrier fleet and both of our carriers with their replacements more than a decade away. We've only recently got the carriers to replace them and are still waiting for delivery of the F-35's to replace the Harriers.

She is stating, in the HoC, that she took the fine and points associated with the crime of speeding, and had not attempted to avoid the sanction. We can reasonably interpret this to mean that she did not try to avoid accepting the penalty by accepting a reduced FPN penalty of a course. If she _did_ try get her publicly-funded staff to investigate her accepting the reduced penalty then she has just lied to Parliament. I know, I know, you just cannot imagine a member of the Government lying to parliament, so she must be telling the truth, and it must be logic that is out of kilter.

When she became an MP in 2015 they apparently asked the advisors who brief new MP's if she could claim speeding fines on expenses. Being a barrister, she should have known the answer was NO. She then somehow became Attorney General.
