One of the reasons why Marsha got a lighter sentence is they knew she was coerced into getting in the business, for she was reluctant to get involved at first, but as usual females [especially those who think they are in love] can be easily persuaded. Marsha was one of the bravest woman I saw in the series [for my man] she was offered a much, much lighter sentence if she would just be the star witness against Flippa, but although the others start to sing like a bird to save their skin, she was loyal right down to the sentencing, despite flippas cheating on her openly [maybe why she looked so distance all the time she was with him], I watch the whole story on a series on Utube entitles [for my man] you didn't miss a beat SirP.
